A Slot in the front of the rod holder allows for a spinning reel to be securely held in position. The rod holder design has a side mounted flange, which leaves the bottom open. This allows for the rod holder to accommodate trigger grips. Pistol grip rod butts easily clear the sides of the rod holder for quick rod retrieval.

I bought these to run planner boards off the front of my pontoon. They fit perfect. Easy installation with minimal tools.

Needed a rod-holder that fits the bars of our small fishing pontoon boat. These work great. Bought 2 more. Wish I could get a drink holder that fits a 1-1/4" square boat railing. Most boating accessories are for round railings. Holds the rods firmly in place.

I fish off a pontoon with 1 1/4 railing all the way around. I have used Scotty holders for years. This version is just as good as all the others. The fit to rail is perfect. The screws are a great length. Fit and finish is good and leaves zero doubt your expensive rod and reel are secure. Taking a star off for pricing as these are expensive. Good product absolutely but pricey.

It is hard to find a rod holder for less than $30 that can handle big fish and can mount to a square tube pontoon rail. This one gets it done. I am a catfish angler who routinely catches 30lb + catfish in the Tennessee River. I tried the cheap wal-mart rod holder, but the splines strip/slip if a big fish is on no matter how tight you tighten the adjustment. These have big splines and do not slip. Most of Scotty's stuff is well made.

Bought it for my dad for Father’s Day. He covers his pontoon religiously after using it. He’s owned it for 8 years and it looks new. No weather damage at all. There was no driver rod holder. Needed on that can pull off so when he covers it. Works great and he loves it. Next thing I buy him is a rubber net, I hate those material ones, but my hooks love it.
