This card reader is perfect for photographers. I use it to move photos from my SD cards to my iPad, and to my computer. The USB slot is an added bonus, but I do not use it much as all. I have not had any compatibility issues with this. It reads fast and is recognized quickly by my devices. It is super easy to use and it works just as well as more expensive ones. A great price, too. I like to keep an extra on hand so I always know I have one with me.

I was all ready to go on my trip and realized that the compact laptop I was going to bring chose to do away with the card readers as one way to minimize the size. So- I grabbed this reader real quick. I had checked before I left to be sure it would read my cards and do what it needed to do. This, I did on the laptop I usually use, which also happens to already have card readers installed. When I got to my destination and attempted to use the card reader, I found that, while the computer recognized the drive- once I put the card in, the drive would disappear. I had to run the computer fixer, which updated and reinstalled the drivers for me. Once I restarted the laptop, the reader worked fine. I see no issues with this card reader, and the case is nice, with extra space for cards and batteries and so on. I would just suggest that if you are not going to have access to the internet, you make sure the drivers are all in order before you head out to wherever you need to go. The only other thing is that it's a bit stiff to put the cards in, so sometimes you wonder if you are putting them in upside-right or not.

While on a recent international trip I needed a solution to find a compact, quick, easy way to get files from my Nikon Digital Camera to my iPad Air and iPhone pro for editing in Lightroom and posting on socials. I wanted something small, light and easy to pack as I was not planning on bringing my laptop. This worked perfectly for use between the items! Plugged in and was good to go with no software or resolution issues. Love the travel case it comes with, too! Great product!

My microSD card should be able to read and write at at least 50MB/s, but at best I'm getting 10MB/s. I expected faster data transfer.
