Excellent product. In the past I used Jiffy-7 pellets, but these have become expensive.(I used a similar generic pellet from Amazon; these were skinnier, taller but unstable.) This set however is very good, reusable, and cost effective. I use Miracle Grow seed starting mix (you MUST wet the mix before adding the seeds or the seeds will float away.) When adequate roots develop, I repot the seedlings in 4†silicone-bottomed pots, also available on Amazon.

Just arrived in a timely way. It appears to be a good sturdy quality. Looking forward to getting started with planting the seeds for 2025 !

I’m a newer gardener, and decided to purchase these an an inexpensive seed starting set. They definitely aren’t of the highest quality, but not bad for the price. Don’t leave out in a spot with direct sunlight (or like me in a my deck box that receives intense afternoon sunlight), or the bottom tray will melt and deform. The individual cells themselves were a bit smaller than anticipated. I do like the flexibility to be able to easily push the plugs out of the cell.As other reviewers mentioned, the domed lids do not snap into place. But instead just set on top of the tray, and therefore can be easily blown off or knocked away. To secure them better, I just wrapped a rubber band around the base and dome so insure it stayed in place. Some of the round plastic vent closures also didn’t snap into place correctly, but I also held them down with the rubber band. All and all I would say this is a good set for a starter kit, but not something that is going to last for multiple seasons. In hindsight, I would have rather spent more money on a better set. But you live and learn. One other thing to note is the silicone material seemed to cause some of my plugs to develop a mildew. This could have been from me overwatering, but I will say I did not notice this with my other more traditional seed cell trays made of sturdy plastic. The little tools and tags it came with were a nice touch! I’ve gotten a lot of use out of the tools when up-potting

I start a lot of plants from seed. I have about 5 different tray/cell sizes. These little kits are great for slow growers or stuff that going out in a month or less. The design makes it easy to pop the plug out. Great for new seed starting gardeners. For this price you can’t beat it.

Each tray of 12 is a great way to separate seedings that sprout at different times. One tray with sprouts ready to be transplanted can be transferred without disturbing other seedlings. The flex rubber assists with getting the seedling out without damage. The vents at the top work to control the condensation....and it's not a problem if you put them on the wrong way!

Nice trays and the rubber bottoms seem like they will make it easy to remove plantings. We shall see.

These intrigued me because of the flexible silicon. They were easy to use and clean. They are sturdy and will last for years. They seem smaller than a traditional tray. The material was very good quality and not too thin like plastic ones. I did have about 30% failure to germinate with these. Could have been the seeds? I will try again and update to really test their functionality.
