This has all the appearances of being a valuable tool. It comes with a hefty price tag so just how much help will this be is depending on your current abilities.Without the pole attached is is moderately light weight but the pole adds a lot of weight. My current method of pruning is with a manual curved saw. It's mounted on a fiberglass pole that extends to 20 feet. It is extremely light and the curved saw allows me to reach what I need to and I can see what I am doing. This fella offered here extends to 15 which is not bad but it is heavy and that is a big deal. You will most likely need to use the included belt to support that extra weight. I have a weed-wacker that as a chainsaw attachment. I use this to cut down large branches. It is heavy, and I must wear the strap to support it on my hip as well.This tool has multiple pivot points and while this makes it adaptable to conditions, it does make it bigger, which when pruning branches that are out of reach, it is difficult to see the pruner blade and that is a problem.The claim is the battery life is up to 6 hours. If that is true it's impressive but as a bit of an electronic geek the facts are this tool claims to have a 600watt motor. At 21volts that draw is about 3 amps (3000mah) of current or more. A cell phone for example, draws 800mah while its being used. A 4000mah battery at that rate would be drained in 5 hours. This tools battery, and the current required, will deplete the battery much sooner that 6 hours. More like 1 hour.The tool does have a few safety features in place. One is you must turn the tool on. Its not always ready like a power drill. You must then pull the trigger twice to "wake it up". Now to use it you must pull and release the trigger to open and close the blade. It does not run continuously.The company does back up their product for 12 months which is good as the packaging allowed all the contents to be tossed around.Cheers

Take a look at the manufacturer’s photos and notice how small the blades look in comparison to the cutter itself. It’s almost impossible to see those blades when you’re trying to cut branches ten to fifteen feet over your head. Then combine that with the challenge of balancing the whole thing well enough to get it positioned on the branch and you have a comedy show for anyone watching. Just ask my wife. Fortunately there are enough pivot points that you can turn the cutter sideways and at least see the blades. I’m very satisfied with the quality of the product. I think the design engineers did a good job of balancing strength and weight so that fully extended there’s not a lot of flex in the pole. Once positioned the blades do an excellent job of cutting. Fully extended I was able to naw through branches that wouldn’t even fit completely in the cutter blades. There’s definitely no lack of cutting power. It’s a little frustrating to do the whole squeeze the trigger twice thing to get it to power up but I certainly understand the reason. These Electric Pruning Shears would easily cut a finger off. It comes with two batteries and the manufacturer does sell replacements. Other than the difficulty of seeing the blades when extended this is a good product.My rating system:5 stars..... The pruner and pole are well-made, and cuts are clean and powerful. My only complaint is that the max branch cutting size was advertised to be 1.2", but in practice it's nowhere near that. Most cuts should be made with the branch well inside the blades. At this point the max distance between the cutting blade and the fixed arm is less than .75". Only at the tip end of the two blades is the blade opening even close to the advertised 1.2" value, but this is not where you would normally cut a branch. Other than the max cutting size exaggeration the pruner seems to be a good tool.

We have a large bush/tree that needed pruning. Most of the branches were around an inch thick more or less. To do it by hand would have been quite a chore. I tried this to make life easier and I'm impressed. So far I haven't used the extension just the hand held pruner. This cut through one inch branches like butter. You pull the trigger once and it gives you a single powerful cut. We only used the one battery and it lasted the couple hours we were out there without dying.I'll try out the pole after the leaves fall off so we can do the top. So far I'm very pleased with this and recommend it.
