These snakes are your basic hardwired Y splitters. They each have a stage box and two hardwired short trunks with fantails. These splitter cables are straight send snakes without returns. The cable ends on the fantails are all male XLR, while the stage box consists of all female XLR. Each stage box is well labeled and constructed from heavy duty steel. Both fantails are well labeled and grouped by color. Both the main trunk and split trunk are built with cable that is individually shielded pairs, 22 gauge, high copper purity conductors with aluminum foil shield and trace wire. You will find strain relief at both the stage box and fantail end. There is a mesh hanger at the fantail end. The female XLR panel jacks on the box are the button-less coiled spring style with non metallic bodies. The fantail is built with male XLR shells.

I picked up this splitter as a way to allow my band to do a separate feed for FOH and stage sound (which we manage separately). The plan was to gradually integrate it into our setup, but instead had a "Surprise!" setup on the first show we had it at and had to go all out with our new gear without having a chance to test it, something that always causes heartburn.Given the price of this item compared to competitors, I found myself praying as I unboxed the splitter that build quality wouldn't be where cost savings were achieved. Imagine my surprise when the build quality on this item was better than the custom-built snakes we've bought in the past! I can't say enough about how well this piece of equipment, which is a piece of equipment you generally take for granted until it's not performing flawlessly, is built. It will be making many stage appearances with us for years to come!

I purchased the SATSS-16x1515 which was to be a perfect distance/length between components. once I unboxed, I realized instead of the advertised 15' per tail, it was 13' and 4" per tail. This really messed up my layout, and I am EXTREMELY annoyed with the false advertising, and customer service over at Seismic Audio telling me to purchase a second splitter from amazon to "see" maybe if that one may be correct. Where has the pride gone with product and customer service....!?

Good sturdy quality construction. I wish they would use better XLR input jacks, I've had some issues with mine with not connecting properly with the cables. Sometimes we have to mess with a cable to get it to make contact. Replacement jacks were sent to me after I had contacted Seismic audio and I replaced a few of them that had problems, but the new jacks were exactly the same type of connectors. The type of XLR cable connector didn't matter. I had the same issue with cheap cables as I had with more expensive cables with Neutrik connectors.Just poor quality XLR connectors. Fix that and these are top of the line...

The splitter works great. I can now record all of my rehearsals on separate tracks into Pro Tools and still hear everything through the PA on separate tracks as well. Price was perfect too! Shipping was fast and well packaged.

Box connectors are a little iffy. I quit running phantom power thru this box.Tail connectors and wire seem fine.I would spend a little more to get better build all around, next time.
