I use this dual HDMI adapter to connect 2 monitors via HDMI cable to one of the USB C ports on my Surface Laptop running Windows 11. This dual HDMI adapter works great. In addition I have a single HDMI adapter connecting 1 more monitor via HDMI cable to the other USB C port on my Surface Laptop. That also works well.

I bought two of these : one for a 2 monitor set up, one for 3 monitor. My two NUCs graphic cards, Win Pro 10 can out put three 4K video at 60Hz. The one I put in service has three cons... The USB to HDMI box it self runs very hot just sending two 1920x 1080 extended displays to Sceptre 27 inch monitors. The second con: the older monitor is very dim and Windows 10 "display" menu nor monitor menu can make it same brightness as the newer curved monitor. 3RD Con: sound out put is only to one of the two monitors Usually NOT the monitor playing some video, mildly annoying. I am still playing with set ups and HDMI 1 vs 2 to each monitor but getting frustrated and looking for a better USB ThunderBolt 3 to HDMI adapterI may up to 4 stars. The company saw my review and offered help. This is what I sent them:After some fussing I have solved 2 of my 3 cons of this device. The dim monitor was not the HDMI adapter. The sound to only one is not adjustable in win 10 and nota fault of the adapter. I hope my solution to the adapter being hot to the touch will work. After routing cables I was able to attach the dual HDMI adapter to the steel center post of my three monitor desk mount. This should heat sink some. Only time will tell.Four or five times in last 2 days one monitor goes black for 3 to 5 seconds and then magically comes back on....Still investigating but may be my video card and not the adapter. Swapped in second adapter and can not replicate the screen black out. So if this one stays stable for a few days I will swap back to the first adapter. If it starts randomly blacking out one screen will return for new unit.Edit in. The seller impresses me with willingness to exchange the low cost product to make me happy. I am aware that I was expecting a lot from this dongle. I am amazed at how few who buy these products do not understand USB C and Thunderbolt 3 or 4.I have a nice rural large estate, 100% networked both wifi and ethernet. A substantial inventory of surveillance cameras and detectors. My Network operations center (NOC) and active surveillance monitoring and my personal internet searching/watching streaming media dictated a large array of curved high res monitors. Higher end mother boards and graphics cards that use USB C Thunderbolt 3 can easily control three separate displays on most OSs but not Ios. I am a Microsoft Win 10 user.From what I can determine this unit and all the others like it but different brands and slightly different prices all use the same internal chipset. None were intended for 24/7 4K 30Hz stressful use like I am doing. There are a few things you can do to promote a long life.1. Seems like all USB C Thunderbolt 3 female ports on laptops or computers are very loose fitting. The male plug on this device needs a straight in-- no up, down side to side stress once plugged in.2. The two HDMI female ports on this device also demand no up down side to side stresses.3. This unit runs warm under normal use and can get very hot if sending High res video for long periods.SO situate this device so the cabling does not get moved once in use. PERIOD!Make sure the device is in free air with good circulation OR provide circulation with a small 80mm or smaller low CFM USB fan ( under $14 here on amazon)I have two of these running 24/7 and my initial issues were all cabling relatedFinal note as an experiment I connected one HDMI port to a longer 20 foot cable to my 40 inch Roku TV across the room. Fired up Hulu started a movie on one PC monitor screen and them MOVED it to the TV. worked just fine and the device did not get noticeably hotter

Short version: I got this 2 weeks ago, and it completely broke within that time.I purchased this adapter because I need it for my work from home set up. At first I thought it was a bit pricey compared to other options, however the next best options would take 2 days longer to arrive so I said 'why not, it must be better quality anyway'. I was wrong.After going through a whole saga in terms of delivery it finally arrived. It worked just as it was suppose for the first week but recently I plugged my personal laptop in (which I had done many times before) and it did not work. I thought 'hmm, must be my laptop' so I restarted it. Still my laptop did not connect to my monitors. I then tried my laptop. Did not work. I then connected each of the HDMI cords from my monitors individually to my personal laptop and both worked.I then did every test possible to see if it was the adapter or something else that was not working cause should a simple thing which cost more than normal market price would not break within 2 weeks. Alas, this poor quality controlled device has done exactly that.Well, that's my experience with it. I'm impressed you read the long version. My recommendation is quite obvious.

I travel between two offices and need to take my laptop with me. I need two large monitors to work. This gadget helps me to turn my tiny laptop screen into two full sizes monitors.The different options for the screens; extend/stretched across two monitors, duplicate monitors, or split monitors are very useful.It was quite easy to set up as well. Just plug and play.

I've been using it for about three weeks now, and it is working great. While it is working great, the initial setup was a struggle. I am running two monitors off my Dell Inspiron 5510 laptop and using my laptop closed. At first, I could only get one of the external monitors to be recognized. After switching cables around and plugging and unplugging everything several times, all of a sudden both monitors came alive. It was then an interesting process to get the monitors lined up like I wanted. But in the end, and for now, the device is doing exactly what I wanted.

Just like most reviews with 1 star, the adapter suddenly stop working after less than one and a half months. I was working using the adapter when suddenly my screens turned black. I checked the adapter and it was having a burnt smell and it was very hot. I confirmed that the issue is the adapter because I tested the screens in the on the unique HDMI port that my computer has, and there they work fine. I borrowed another adaptor and that one works fine in the same USB-C port I was using to connect my adapter.Update:The seller promptly issued a refund for the defective device. I was told that temperatures above 150F (65C) can damage the port, so be careful about where you place the adaptor and whether is properly dissipating the heat.

Works for Windows laptop plug and play, but not for Apple MacBook Pro. Played with settings and tried numerous methods to set up, but unable to attain Extended desktop across two screens with this splitter. Unsure why it works for PC versus Mac, I have no idea

Works like a charm on windows laptops. I have bought this to extend my dual monitor and it works as expected. Picture quality is also amazing with 4K@60GHz HDMI cables. I love this product.

Works very well with my surface book 2 to extend to addition 2 screens! It's super value for money compare those expensive docks.Flickering: Very stable, no flickering most of the time, except when I'm playing video from Netflix in the extended screen, but it's really acceptable.Media playing (hdcp) :Also to note that it is HDCP compliant so you can play Netflix etc over the extended screen.Heating: very acceptable heating from the adapter, perhaps just around 30 to 40 Celsius.Always on: the connection is there 99% of the time even after I suspend my surface book and turn it back on the next day. The connection may break once in a blue moon when I try to turn my suspended machine back, but it probably only happen twice over the last 3 months of using it.Just hope that it will last for at least 1.5 to 2 years.
