We lost a paddle in the middle of a lake. Good thing there was 2 of us together. I can’t imagine having to get back to shore alone without a paddle. Extremely disheartening.

The pieces do not lock tightly together. Once of the first times I used it, my hand brushed against the small locking button, the paddle disassembled and the bottom half immediately sunk to the bottom of the lake. It is probably not just this paddle, but seems like a major design flaw that the 2 pieces must be attached in order to float. Would be practical if each piece floated separately to avoid loss.
