I harbored doubts about the long term reliability of push-fit plumbing fittings. But having said that, I have yet to see a single failure. This stuff makes plumbing work just as easy as a certain Danish plastic block construction toy!The problem with sweating/soldering copper tube, or (worse) gluing PVC pipe, is that you have to get the lengths right first time - no do-overs. With Sharkbite it's good to know that if you've misjudged a cut you can remove the fitting, trim the tube, and try again. As an aside, the plastic crescent-type removal tool that comes free with most of these fittings is pretty unergonomic and tricky to use - do yourself a favor and invest in their proper metal removal tool.I've used this stuff now for bathrooms, laundry rooms and showers in-wall with copper tubing and PEX, and for garden irrigation with Schedule 40 PVC, and it's always a delight to use.I wish it wasn't so darned expensive, but a) it's a great product, so fair play to the inventors and I guess they can charge what the market will bear, and b) when you factor in all the time you save not having to sweat/solder/glue, you'd have to put a really low value on your own personal time to begrudge the upfront purchase cost!Highly recommended.

I used this transition coupling to connect PEX and PVC piping. It is easy to use and the connection is reliable.

This makes this kind of work so easy. Heck I was thrilled when pvc came out and I didn't have to solder so much. I do wonder how long they last. I get it that EPDM lasts quite a while. But I have a 60 year old house that still has old fittings..and still work. Will these last that long? I probably won't be around to find out.

I am not too good at soldering copper joints. This product is great. Just have a clean end and push it on. Have used them several times with sucess.

Water line had a small pin hole leak in it costing me about $60 more a month. Dug up the line and found the City had PVC from the meter to our 3/4†Galvanized pipe. Which was where the pin hole leak was. This fixed me up got Pex tubing to the house now.
