We dug trenches and placed the pex lines before cutting, so we were cutting the lines inside the trenches. We started without a cutter, so we were using a hack saw, which is a real pain to use in the trench. I finally ordered this and it is great. cuts quickly, with little effort.

The cutters work well to be plastic. My only gripe is the bolt that holds it all together comes out of the nut over a short period of use. If you put a smidge of loctite on them as soon as you buy them, problem solved. Don't over do it, just a smidge.

Not every cut was ideal due to the handle & the blade, My guess is it's plastic so as you cut pipe the handle & blade move the blade moves just fine, but as you complete your cut the blade starts move into the bottom half of the tool. There is a precut slot in the plastic for the blade to travel to as it completes the cut that's not what the blade is doing. The Blade jams up on the other half of the tool.

Someone else wrote a review here saying “duller than a politicianâ€, and I agree 100%. I was completely unable to make a straight cut with this. Most of the SharkBite stuff is great, but this tool isn’t worth the packaging it’s shipped in. I ended up buying the Iwiss tool for a third of the price, and it’s an order of magnitude better. Don’t waste your money on this

Not a good cutter. I used it to cut 16mm Pex pipe. The blade went dull quickly. The plastic handles flex to much, making it difficult to cut all the way through.It worked well on soft hose. I will not recomend this cutter if you are a tradesman like me.

The pivot pin nut came loose within days, I simply removed the nut and filled the cavity with epoxy, just a little disappointed I had to repair it so soon.
