I added these at the last minute to my ultra-light portable medkit for a trip to Japan. The country basically forbids possessing blades (including scissors of any reasonable size), so I figured these would be a "better-than-nothing" replacement to my EDC pocket knife.I chose them based on size and weight. They're unbelievably tiny, and weigh like ... nothing. But man do they cut! I tested them on an old towel before I left, and they rolled right through it.In Japan, they cut strips of gauze for our blisters, and packages when we couldn't tear them. I even used the inner handle as a pair of pliers once. They made it back home in one piece, even after I forgot to relocate them from my carry-on satchel for the plane rides home. HND and SEA security didn't flag them. Were they too small for busy agents to notice on the scanners? Or clearly not a threatening object? I can't say, and I don't recommend testing to find out, but that was my experience.I can see why these have so many positive reviews from medical professionals. You can probably spare the space to have these on you all the time, and good scissors may just save your butt someday.Buy a pair for each first aid kit you have.

I keep these in my boo boo kit at work. They cut very well and are very easy to store. I bought two mlre for range gear and car kits.

I’m an ER nurse & I bought these for my badge not knowing how sturdy they’d actually be on clothes for trauma situations—but they work great!!! Cut clothes off like an absolute charm to be so small. They’re very durable. I’m thoroughly impressed by them. They also come in handy so often literally every shift to open things that are a pain. I use them constantly. At this point, I don’t even know how I survived without them for so long!

The mini shears are perfect for carrying in a pocket because of the size, the blunt end makes it very safe, and the almost-right rings size - someone with thick fingers would have trouble getting a good comfortable grip. The negatives are the blades are tin-foil thick and the tool cannot handle much beyond trimming dead leaves and thin stems, my primary reason for getting them. My advice: make them truly tough, increase the diameter of the rings somewhat, and so it will cost more but you'll have a great tool.

I recently switched careers and went from the truck to the floor. I loved my trauma shears & needed something compact to fit in my scrubs. These cut well and do everything I need them to!

Edit...I have had these little buggers over a year now. Still keep them on my lanyard, with a rubber band around them where they join. I use this little pair more than my leather man shears. Perfect for cutting off Coba, tape, bracelet that is in the way of an IV start...you name it. After over a year they are still going strong! These are awesome little things. Just what i wanted. While they wont cut through a penny, i tried but i was afraid the handles would snap off..lol it will slice and bend a penny..giggle. They don't stay shut on their own after a few uses but a rubber band fixed that. I have them attached to my lanyard for easy to get to for the little things. I will end up buying a few more pairs as my nurse buddies at work always come find me to use them..lol. They are the perfect size to have on your lanyard on a retractable key ring. They weigh nothing so it doesn't weigh you down. I do always keep my leatherman shears in my pocket for big stuff, like cutting off clothes or what ever but these little guys for sure serve a purpose!

These things are handy to have, I carry this in place of my leatherman raptor for lighter task in ER. I was surprised it actually cut through a sweater. So light I keep forgetting I have it, yet tough enough to do the job of bigger trauma shears.
