Simply put: it's a bound book of clear plastic sleeves. You slide your sheet music into the sleeves and -- as long as you don't get glare on the plastic -- happily play anywhere, even if it's windy. To make them fully weatherproof you'd need to tape over the top after filling the sleeves. The sleeves are a very snug fit horizontally for letter size paper: if your paper is ANY wider than 8½ inches it won't fit. Vertically there is room for between 11½ and 11¾ inches, so A4 will work. 9x12 (the standard size for printed sheet music) is a no-go unless you trim it.

My daughter was going through a lot of three-ring binders to hold her sheet music. She brings the folders back-and-forth from school in her book bag. I got this folder, as it is very thin.Over-all it works very well. Each of the sheet protectors can hold two sheets, one front facing, one back facing. I am able to help her sort her music in an easy flip book. There are enough sheets to hold all the music she will collect through-out the year! Next year, I'll get her a new one and this book can go on the shelf!I have noticed that the back or front cover sometimes works it's way loose. I have fixed it once, and apparently I need to fix it again. It helps to crimp the binding down a little bit tighter, or weave a wire through it to hold it together.

This book is a great way to organize and protect your sheet music! Great flexible binding and quality pages that are easy to open and slide your pages into. Great find!

For me this is more for archiving than playing. It seems sturdy enough, but I don’t find the pages all that easy to turn.Pages go in and out easy enough. Good for what it is.
