SIGLENT’s SDS800X HD series high resolution digital storage oscilloscopes are based on 2 GSa/s, 12-bit Analog-Digital Converters and front ends with excellent noise floor performance. They are available in bandwidths of 100 MHz and 70 MHz, have maximum record length of 50 Mpts, and display 2/4 analog channels + 16 digital channels mixed signal analysis ability. The SDS800X HD series employs Siglent’s SPO technology with a maximum waveform capture rate of up to 120,000 wfm/ s (normal mode, up to 500,000 wfm/s in Sequence mode), 256-level intensity grading display function plus a color temperature display mode. It also employs an innovative digital trigger system with high sensitivity and low jitter. The trigger system supports multiple powerful triggering modes including serial bus triggering. Tools such as History waveform recording, Search and Navigate functions, Mask Test, Bode Plot, Power Analysis and allow for extended waveform records to be captured, stored, and analyzed. An impressive array of measurement and math capabilities, options for a 25 MHz arbitrary waveform generator, as well as serial decoding are also features of the SDS800X HD

Excellent specifications and included performance, specially if you know what you are doing, so happy with the purchase. Screen real estate is kind of minimal, but I was expecting that.The only thing I wish it had is external clock sync input but that usually only comes with higher grade models.

Spend a little extra money and get this 4 channel scope instead of the two channel version. Works great, does a lot of measurements and math on captured waveforms, can be put into dot mode to view signals above the Nyquist limit. You can control it from a PC.I started working as an engineer in the 80s. Back then a scope with 1/10 this one's capabilities would have come on a cart, weighed 80 lbs, and cost two years' pay.

First the good. Ethernet capable, works with a wireless WiFi dongle as well. Almost fully controllable remotely, nice html based gui to control. Really overall an amazing product.Not much bad, security for a network device is lacking, so technically it could probably be hacked by someone if they penetrated my network.Some functionality is really only available on the front panel, quickly zooming in, shifting the position of the capture, changing the trigger levels. It’s good enough to work, and I just stand up if I want to do something faster.Touch screen is nice, but I am using it almost exclusively remotely, and anything that can be touched can be clicked on remotely.The device can be hacked (not recommended) to improve the specs. It’s been software tiered, and you can improve the bandwidth. As a software guy using this to monitor signals, it’s not been needed so far.Overall, a really, really excellent value for the money. Whenever I do go independent I would buy one of these for myself, not just through an employer.

A fantastic scope at a fantastic value! There's very good reasons that Siglent scopes are frequently rated the best entry level models - and this new SDS804X HD raises the bar with 12 bit ADC's and faster processing with a higher resolution touch screen. Best of all, the base model SDS804X HD is easily modified into the top of the series SDS824X HD model simply by entering new license codes generated by scripts that can be found online - this increases the bandwidth from 70 MHz to 200 MHz and also increases the memory storage and triggering speed.I also have the previous SDS1104X-E model that continues to serve me well - honestly, the whole 8bit vs new 12bit topic is a little oversold imo. The new SDS804X HD 12bit capture does increase measurement accuracy - especially when zoomed in to fine details. And when you consider that the new models are actually cheaper than the older 8bit models, there's no point in turning that feature down.Do some Googling on EEVblog for thorough reviews and measurements on this scope - it earns high praise. It's amazing the power and performance you can now buy at under $450.
