Color Indicating: Our flower drying preservation kit contains 10% orange crystals and 90% clear crystals. When the orange crystals absorb moisture, they turn dark green, indicating that the silica sand is saturated and needs to be recharged.
Rechargeable: To reactivate the saturated silica gel beads, spread it evenly on a baking pan to form a thin layer. Place it in an oven at 200-250°F for 0.5 to 1 hour, or microwave it for about 10 minutes at 700w until all green crystals turn orange again.

When 10% of the orange crystals absorb moisture and turn dark green, it indicates that the silica sand is saturated and needs to be recharged or replaced.

How to make drying flowers?

Supplies Needed: 1. Flowers 2. Viktairy Flower Drying Silica Gel 3. Airtight Container 4. Brush 5. Scissors 6. Gloves and Mask (recommended)

Step 1: Remove damaged petals and trim flower stems to your desired length.
Step 2: Pour a 1-inch layer of fresh silica gel at the bottom of the container, and place the flowers face up on top of the silica gel, ensuring the flowers do not touch each other.
Step 3: Gently add flower drying desiccant around the flower until it is level with the bottom of the flower. Then, evenly sprinkle silica gel between the flower's center and petals until the flowers are completely covered.
Step 4: Carefully tap the container to allow the silica gel to better penetrate into the flower center. Ensure the flowers are fully encased by the silica gel on all sides.
Step 5: Seal the container and store it in a cool and dry place for 3-7 days. Note: Drying time will vary depending on room temperature and the type of flower.
Step 6: After drying, slowly pour out the silica gel and take out the prepared dried flowers. Brush off the residual crystal on the petals.

Useful Tips:

Although Viktairy silica gel is non-toxic, we recommend wearing a mask and gloves while handling it to avoid inhaling any fine dust.

White flowers may develop a beige hue, and red flowers may darken slightly after drying.

To maintain the color and longevity of dried flowers, store them in cool, shaded areas away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

How to Reactivate?

To reactivate and reuse the saturated flower drying silica gel crystals, spread it evenly on a baking sheet for the oven or a microwave-safe plate for the microwave, forming a thin layer. Baking time will vary depending on the amount of silica gel used. Continue heating until all the green beads revert to orange.

Rechargeable by Oven: Bake for 0.5~1 Hours at 200-250 F(DO NOT exceed 250F).

Rechargeable by Microwave: 7-10 Mins at 700w.

Cautions: Do not recharge the silica gel with orange beads, overheat will reduce its efficiency.

The drying process worked easy, but the process itself does change the colors somewhat. This is probably the process itself, not this particular product. Was easy to do, had good instructions.

I received the plastic tub with crystals loose inside, not sealed in a bag. There were flower petals mixed in. The instructions and brush were also missing. 0 stars.
