I got one of those 49 Ultrawides with display port, but no thunderbolt/usbc, and my thunderbolt docks would only do 60hz even over display port, when the monitor should be able to go to 144hz. This cable worked, the actual max refresh rate supported by the monitor appeared in macOS, setting it worked, and the monitor seems much better now to me, snappier, even in the delay coming back from screen off seems faster. Good length at 16 ft too! Glad I found this.

The cables I ordered were to connect a Mac Studio’s Thunderbolt4 port (USB-C connector) to my new monitors, which needed Displayport. I bought what I regarded as high-quality cables from a reputable name brand. I ended up ordering three because one of them just wouldn't work. When it comes to cables, cheap just doesn't work. At 50$/cable, I didn't think I was being cheap, but who knows?*** UPDATE ***Silkland did issue a refund for one cable. Since this all transpired, there have been additional issues when rebooting that one of my monitors still would not be recognized. I shut down and removed the two remaining Silkland cables. I replaced them with similarly priced cables from Best Buy. Both monitors were detected at the very first boot up, and no issues since. I should point out that the cables from Best Buy are USB-C to HDMI. They didn’t have any USB-C to DisplayPort, which is why I ordered through Amazon in the first place. Both monitors are set for Auto-detect. Based on these results, I would say there is probably an issue with the frequency response of the Silkland cables such that the monitors’ auto-detect routine fails.

It works as expected, and the picture quality is excellent. I was also impressed by the grade of the wire itself. However, the first time I connected it to my laptop from the monitor, it took a few minutes to recognize it.

After testing one or two other cables, this one works!I'm running an M1 MacBook Pro with the Samsung Odyssey 49" Ultra Wide smart monitor. In order to display at the full resolution, DisplayPort is necessary given the limitations of HDMI. This solution simply works.

Given I only use MacBooks, these are handy to have around. Super simple, and works like a charm.

Worked fine until tonight. Cable just stopped working on my OLED monitor. I tested my monitor with another cable that I had and it's working. Wish there was a warranty because these cables are expensive for the lack of quality. I'm going to buy another one to try but I should not have to.

Bought two ultra-wides for my new Geekom Mini PC (fabulous). I am daisy chaining both monitors and connecting through my 40GB USB4 on my PC. Images are vibrant and cord quality is exceptional at a very competitive price point. Couldn't be happier.

This cable finally allowed me to run my Samsung Oddysey Neo G9 at the max refresh rate (240Hz) at its native 5120 x 1440 resolution off of my laptop, without the traditional big DisplayPort port (only a small USB-C Thunderbolt port which per the specs directly connects to the the laptop's 4080)!

Hace exactamente lo que tiene que hacer, esto es, conectar un dispositivo USB-C a un monitor DisplayPort. Funciona perfectamente en mi portátil Lenovo Legion.La construcción del cable es robusta, con conectores bien terminados y cable de Nylon trenzado. Silkland cables are always top-notch, and this one is no different. The thick, braided design makes it extremely durable while also giving it a premium look. The aluminium connectors look and feel solid, and it performs mostly as advertised (I'll get there). I’ve been using it for gaming and office work with my MacBook Air M3, and overall, it delivers great performance.
