This lamp works too well. I no longer have my baby Sulcata Tortoise or the lamp I really like the lamp. It worked well during cold nights and I mean without the Tortoise. I gave my babe up during my pregnancy because I had no idea they automatically carried salmonella and I can't get sick during that time or my baby girl. Buy the lamp even if you don't have pets that need it.

I ordered this heat lamp for FFA show lamb.I did not test the product as soon as I got it.I live in Houston temps are still reasonable.First attempt to flip the switch in Late NovAnd it did NOT work. I took the lamp home and tested again - still NOTworking.I also noted that even thoughThis item was mounted in a covered barn structure -It is showing signs of rust on the lamp shade, and whitePart holding light bulb. I would not bother with this product especiallyFor show animals.
