Too many small sewing jobs piling up around the house and we needed something to help out. Searched online and eventually found this Singer Stitch Quick. Battery operated, handheld, has an actual bobbin, and the online, well-made video instructions via YouTube was the final selling point.The included printed instructions are OK, decent quality, BUT the online training videos have been all the difference between defeat and victory for getting all the pants around here finally hemmed in a presentable way. We would recommend that you practice on some throw away materials before trying on your vintage pieces! It is a little finicky at first, but once you get the hand of it, it works good enough (for us).Is it a substitute for an expensive floor machine? Well, no, but we don't have room for that, nor do we need that apparently for what we are doing.Ours came with all the parts and has worked great on several small jobs, AND most importantly, didn't cost us an arm and a leg.

I am a middle aged man. I bought this because it was name brand and I needed something to just do hems with. I had a heck of a time getting anything working having never sewn before. So I had my mother who has sewn her entire life look at it and even she could not get it working properly. I kept breaking threads or not stitching. I was very upset bc I had paid a lot. The competition is half the price and works wonders. Buy something else. This is trash.

I have been needing to hem my pants, as all of pants are too long due to me being too short 🙃 but the cost is insane to have a pro do it. And I know nothing about hand stitching. So when I saw this, I new it was meant to be. This little thing is the best, once you figure it out. As someone who knows nothing about sewing machines, I was quickly overwhelmed by the instructions. It is by far much easier to watch a 3 part video series on YouTube. Once I understood what to do, I still struggled 🤣 you have to practice a little and get to know it through trial and error. Believe me, my issues were due to user error and this thing is perfect. I just hemmed a pair of pants and the stitching looks marvelous, although crooked and wonky because I'm not coordinated. However, these are my work pants and I really don't care.

I keep this little machine at work to use to mend and fix and work on smaller products at my desk. This is a nice little machine and easy to use.

I have a regular sewing machine but sometimes I am too lazy to set it all up, so I brought this to do quick projects.In a pinch it works but it is also a much more pain in the butt to use.The opening is maybe a quarter of an inch, so to slip something like a zipper through it is really challenging. And how the thread tension works, when you finish sewing and go to cut the thread, you have to pull it to the side cutter and because of the tension, you will either break the tread, or when you get it cut it will spring back and pop out of the eye hole. I’ve had to retread that thing a million times after each run. The only way to avoid it for me is to take the thread out of the spring thing, pull it up and leave 4 inches of thread and cut with scissors. And the reason you go through these extra steps is because the machine is so rigid and small, you need a threader thing to get the thread back in the eyehole. Because of the angles, it’s not like a regular sewing machine where I just use my eyes and fingers and run it back through, this thing is nearly impossible without a little threader device.It is handy for something like sewing a buckle strap back on a bbq pit cover by walking to the pit and sewing it on there on site vs removing the cover and taking it inside and setting up the big machine.

I wasn't expecting much, I've gotten one of these type of hand machines before that was just trash. I took a chance on this because I really just wanted something I can get out quickly and use for little projects here and there. Total success! Came with w bunch of thread colors and extra needles. this thing is awesome!

First of all the instructions were about as clear fog. Couldn't make much sense of it the reference "Left, Right, Front and back without any idea of what they were referring to on the machine just complicated it more just as the instructions on threading the machine by giving both 1 and A, 2 and B we're of no help and as for the pictures, couldn't make out half of the things it was pointing to. After finally getting it to stitch, it lasted all of 1/2 of the cuff before it stumbled on the seam and unwound the thread and had to rethread it again and again and again. I finally finished the second pair of pants by hand which was faster then with the machine. I'm sorry for such a bad review but in my opinion very poor design. Surprisingly from Singer. Must be one of those that was outsourced to another country that doesn't care about their workmanship. No quality control and the person that allowed that instruction booklet really fell short to pass that as OK.

This item is great for small projects. I use it for hemming curtains and other lighter weight materials. It is not made for heavy duty usage or materials.
