Embossing is the process of creating raised and textured designs in materials such as paper and cardstock. Debossing is the same idea, though instead of raising the material, it pushes the material downwards, to create a ‘sunken’ effect. Our 3-D Embossing Folders do both to create that 3-D effect! How do I use a 3-D Embossing Folder? It’s easy! Grab your Big Shot Machine and 1 Cutting Pad to get started. Firstly, for best results when using cardstock, spray fine water mist onto material before placing inside the folder, this will help to create an even deeper impression! Place the folder on top of your platform and complete the sandwich with your cutting pad placed on the top. With one roll through your die cutting machine, your 3-D design will be revealed! Note: An Adapter Platform will be required when using embossing folders with any of our Sizzix Big Shot machines. Simply place this under the sandwich you’ve created and you’re ready to go! If you've already purchased one of our Big Shot machines, your adapter is included! This is so very easy to use! Of course I use my trusty big shot and with the correct sandwich you get amazing little frames! I only used watercolor paper and then tried some Tim Holtz colored core. That looks so fantastic!!!

I was really doubtful this would work but it does. I used it on heavy cardstock (Neenah Solar White) and it did cut and emboss beautifully. Mine arrived with a bit of residue on it that seemed like oil but it came off easily with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel and did not affect the product or the results. The seller offered a replacement even but it worked out just fine.

Pay attention to the measurements. This is a small frame with an opening of about 1 1/2" x 1 3/4". One side doesn't emboss as deeply, even after turning the folder around in the big shot. Still a nice die. Don't think it's quite worth the high price considering how small it is.

I like this die. The only downside I wish it was larger. I also added a shim (another piece of paper) as I ran it thru my Big Shot. This made the design stand out.

Impecable es el corte de esta carpeta de embossing, ya que no solo realza a detalle, sino que también corta de manera perfecta el contorno. Sobre todo en cartulinas metálicas.Lo recomiendo ampliamente.Saludos.

Ich liebe diese Form! Sie kann mit wirklich jedem Papier verwendet werden, bei dünnerem Papier empfehle ich nur einen Stanzdurchgang, bei dickerem Papier die 3er Regel (3D=3 Stanzdurchgänge). Auch würde ich sehr dickes Papier ganz leicht anfeuchten, so kommt die Prägung noch besser zum Vorschein.
