The system operates on one of 255 security codes that are programmed into the transmitter at the factory, the remote receiver must learn the transmitter code prior to initial use.

I'm a 78 year old grandmother. I was sure I'd have to call an electrician or handyman to install the receiver and connect the remote. But I was able to install the receiver by myself in just a few minutes (the hardest part was having to lie on the floor to get the connectors in place correctly). The remote worked on the first try. I've been using my fireplace daily now for a few weeks with no problems. Highly highly recommend.

This SkyTech Fireplace Remote Control replacement was a perfect replacement for our gas fireplace unit. The original unit was running through batteries and with a range of only a few feet. This replacement was easy to install, the remote synced easily, and the range is good across the room.

there were no instructions on how to program the devise and then for some reason after going on line to find some it was very difficult to get this one to 'learn'. I've actually never had this problem with Skytech remotes before... I deal with them in my work all the time.

Bought as replacement for original unit. Worked fine once programmed but the remote "on" button began to fail. Fortunately the old remote worked fine with the new receiver.

The fireplace remote control arrived quickly from onfireguy.com and was a snap to install on my RealFyre gas log set. Couple of minutes and we're up and running again. Seems to work great. Someone else had mentioned their installation resulted in the remote control operating in reverse (no doubt due to incorrect installation of the receiver wires to the servo motor). The easy-to-follow instructions say that if you plug in the two wires incorrectly, it will operate in reverse. Just switch the wires and it's fine. Our log set has been idle for quite a while because I thought it would be more of a problem. Actually, it was so simple, I wish I had done it sooner.
