Your cart is empty. Lock Washers help achieve tight assemblies by providing good bolt tension per unit of applied torque, with uniform torque control and even load distribution. These washers perform with a type of spring action created by pressure from a slight spiral or helical form. Upward and downward bent projections on respective sides of the split allow the washer to grasp adjoining materials, which helps prevent components from loosening under vibration or corrosion.
Steels are designated by a 4 number SAE Steel grade. The first two digits indicate the primary materials used to form the steel. The last 2 digits identify the percentage of carbon for the alloy (in hundredths). The steel used in these fasteners has a tensile strength ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 psi (pounds per square inch). Zinc Plating helps to prevent corrosion.

The picture and title for this item are accurate. I received internal tooth lock washers with a 0.3910" inside diameter. These fit perfectly on a 3/8" bolt.As mentioned by J.Z. (another reviewer) it appears there is another lock washer being sold on Amazon by Small Parts (but now identified as Amazon.com on the sealed packages of 100 pieces). That thicker (0.0940") lock washer is probably a split lock washer, whereas the internal tooth lock washers I received are 0.0360" thick at their outer perimeter (outside the teeth).

Black coated star washers in situations where you need proper electronic grounds? They have way, WAY more resistance than these washers.

I have to agree with the first review--the description says internal tooth lock washer, but the picture shows a split lock washer. I purchased this item thinking it would be what the picture and description shows--a 3/8" split washer. I received the package and the washers are internal tooth and are very very small. Not satisfied at all. But for $2 I'm not going to go through the hassle of returning anything. Amazon needs to review this product and correct the picture and description.
