About SmallRig 3859
SmallRig Windsheild with Cold Shoe Adapter for Nikon Z 30 3859 is designed to eliminate wind noise for better sound quality in outdoor scenes thanks to the selected artificial wool and thick linings. It connects the camera’s hot shoe via a cold shoe adapter, which is made of tough and durable nylon, and features protective rubber pads in the bottom to increase stability. Also, there is a cold shoe mount on the top of the adapter for mini LED light. Overall, this windshield is compact and easy to carry.

I have 2 Rode directional microphones, both with wind reducers on them. I also have this SmallRig wind reducers apparatus on my Nikon Z30. Seems to work nearly as well as the Rodes with wind reducers. Hard to beat for the price, but it does take up space in the hot shoe, which I some times mount a light meter on and it's difficult to use this device and mount the light meter too.Seems kinda flimsy when I stack on the light meter. It does accommodate a cold shoe device but could be beefier. Especially on windy days. Normally I use the Rode mics, but some times I want omni-directional sound with my videos, and as little wind noise as possible. This device works very well.

The fluffy ears for your Z30! This works like it should, but what isn't obvious is that the underside of the cold foot is a lovely rubber pad, which keeps this snugly in place. It's lovely!

The product has just the right amount of noise and wind buffering/reduction.I have a Nikon Z series camera that has a fantastic built-in mic system but the built-in wind reduction can cause some distortion of vocals. This provides just the right amount of reduction.BTW, when I put it on to my Z Mount camera it pushed the hot shoe cover up and look similar to a little animal standing there. So I just put some googly eyes on the hot shoe cover and gave it a little personality 👀

I don't do much video, but it's a very cheap, small and effective item, definitely a useful accessory, even for folks like me who baaaaarely record. Plus I just love the look lol.

This is basically the second set of these that I've gotten. The first set, one of wind muffs somehow slipped off during shooting. I use this was the Nikon Z30. In saying that, these work really well.

Tried it out during a moderately windy day, but the wind noise on the video was still bad. Need to be bigger and thicker. I will keep it until I find something better, but I am far from thrilled.
