I actually was impressed by the feeder. I wanted a camera to ensure the fish were being fed on the timer. I was hoping that I could find a brand that I have heard of but I gave this one a try and the fish feeder works great, the app isn't hard to use and the camera quality is actually amazing. I was looking to see if they have a similar camera without the feeder that I could use on a window that looks into my sump pump

I have several different types of automatic feeders and this general concept of combining with an app makes it different from the rest. The first major problem I had was the intended installation was on an older 90 gallon tank with the rim/frame. As this can only be installed on a rimless tank not exceeding 16.88mm glass thickness ( about .65 inch ), it will not install on such a rimmed tank. As I do not have a full cover, I had to rig up a partial glass cover to allow it to sit on top. The food dispersal worked ok.. but the app had some issues. For me it did not work well ( use on a rimless tank is recommended ) and although the concept is good, it appeared unnecessarily complicated. I would not suggest use on a smaller tank .. considering its over all size, best for a larger tank with rimless glass.

Long time aquarium enthusiast here. I tried this on my 65 gal cube tank. There are a few things I'm not a fan of and a few things I like about it.Pros:1) The camera is pretty decent and I like that the camera uses a magnetic connector.2) It holds a lot of food.3) It has a space for a desiccant.4) It looks nice enough.Cons:1) Proprietary app that seems to run in the background unless I force stop it. This is my biggest complaint. I don't mind that they have a proprietary app, but companies making 'smart' devices need integrate with other systems.2) Similar to the first, but the camera can only be accessed from their app. I have lots of cameras on my network, I want to be able to view my fish like any other IP or WebRTC camera I have.3) The device is bigger than it needs to be unless you have some big fish that eat a lot of fish. Personally, I just wish the device had a slightly smaller footprint. I think it is too big to have visible on my 65 gallon cube tank. It's fine for when I'm on vacation, I just wouldn't leave it on all the time like I do my smaller one.4) Not the best dose control. You get two feed trays that rotate around and allow food to pass through them. The small tray is several times smaller than the large tray. So if you want to add slightly less than what one large tray adds, you need to have the small tray rotate around several times. That's not a huge deal if you schedule feeding when no ones around, but the tray does rotate slowly, and if you're using the small tray, most of the rotation you hear isn't doing anything. If they had a bi-directional motor then they could decrease the time the motor is on by 4-5x.All in all the feeder is fine. If you happen to have a cabinet over your tank then most of the things I mentioned don't matter much. Personally the thing I would seek out in the future is a feeder that integrates with Home Assistant, but that's outside the scope of what most people want. This feeder is probably just fine for most people.
