This call button set is so nice and the price was right! I just needed some simple way for my mom to call for assistance while I was in a different part of the house or in the garden. Mom has fallen a couple of times and she is unable to get up by herself. Now she can reach me easily. Easy to set up even comes with batteries which is nice since one type of battery is a weird size. Unit is Nice and loud too.

We really like this product. It works great--there are 2 sounds--one is similar to a bell tone, the other is a siren--we use the siren sound selection on the receiver when outside mowing as it is louder. The range works as advertised and the sounds are loud enough to hear. We were surprised that it came with lanyards and that the receiver has a clip to attach to a pocket while someone is outside. We added another lanyard to one of the pager buttons so that it would hang from the towel bar low enough to be grabbed if there was a fall in the shower. We test it daily as there is not an alert for low battery---other than that---we have no other cons. We researched other products---this is the ONLY one that met our needs and WORKED (we received a defective product from another company that was very cheaply made) --- we did not need something calling a service---we just wanted something for our personal use. We do recommend this product--reasonable cost and does what it advertises.Update---Oct, 2013--we have had this product about 6 months now, and it started working intermittently. For the most part, it still worked if you pushed the buttons several times---we changed the batteries inside the buttons----so that is not the issue--it is likely the contacts. Also, I noticed the range between the receiver and the buttons had shortened--I would need to have the receiver almost in the same room as the call button for the alarm to work----that DID turn out to be a battery issue with the receiver---it needed new batteries and now the range is back to normal. I called the smart caregiver company and asked if they had any systems that one could just order a new button if a button went bad, as this one does not have that option. The customer service representative recommended the 433-EC, the receiver uses 3 C batteries, but also comes with an ac adapter; and you can add up to 5 buttons, however it will keep sounding until you turn it off at the receiver. You can also order replacement buttons for the 433-EC, according to her. The receiver on the 433-EC does not have the clip to carry it around as does this one. She said the 433-EC has a one year warranty as opposed to a 90 warranty that this one carries. So consider your needs as each has it's pros and cons.

This is a VERY useful product. My wife just had major surgery, and has been mostly bed-ridden. I work from a home office, and need her to be able to reach me on short notice from the opposite corner of our 1,200 sqft apartment. My first thought when considering this product was "Why would I need something like this when my wife can just text me or call me on our cell phones?". Good question....then I realized that doing this would require several steps: find the phone - unlock the phone - navigate to my cell phone number - enter a text/call me...In an emergency, this would present WAY too many steps. Once I went through this expected chain of events, I placed an order for the Smart Caregiver product.Amazingly enough, I ordered the product on the day my wife was being discharged from the hospital, and was presented with the option of same day delivery. I figured I'd accept this option, just to see what the charge would be, and was amazed to find out same day delivery would be at no charge. Excellent! When we got her home, I placed one of the transmitters near her bed, and the other in her bathroom, and carried the remote pager with me. Since I was required to be with her whenever she needed to get out of the bed, these locations made sense. We didn't use the clips provided - not because they're not useful (screws and double-side tape are provided), but just because we haven't gotten around to selecting appropriate mounting locations. She was initially hesitant to embrace this new "gadget", as in "Do we REALLY need another electronic thing?!", but all it took was once punch of the call button to realize that this was a LOT easier, convenient, and most of all, FASTER than using the cell phone to reach me.The "Pager" receiver has two sounds it can make, and these are selected with a sliding button on the pager itself. The first is a standard "Ding - Dong" of an old doorbell. Pressing the call button results in two Ding-Dong sounds, and then stops. This sound was sufficiently loud to get my attention from every situation I had around the house, including talking on a conference call with a headset, watching TV in another room, etc..The second sound is a warbling alarm - think siren. When this alarm is selected, it sounds and does not stop until you turn it off on the pager. I have used this sound when I knew I'd be deeply involved in an activity, like showering, using a vacuum cleaner, or otherwise engaged in a louder task. The alarm absolutely gets your attention. The range is quoted as 500 feet, but we haven't tested this since our apartment is nowhere near that large, but I can say I've had the pager clipped to my belt and gone outside to walk our dogs, and it's reached me 5 stories down and a couple hundred feet away. So, why not 5 stars? Well, the belt clip is useful, but I have found the pager can be bumped off my belt a little too easily. In addition, the pager is made of hard (read - possible too easy to crack) plastic, and the couple of times it's fallen from my belt, I've worried it would break. In fact, both time, the battery cover popped off.Other things that I'd suggest improving are the batteries for the call buttons: they are special types, not normally available. I suppose this battery was chosen for its small size, but given the size of the button, I would imagine a normal AAA could be used. We've also hung one of the pagers near the shower stall via the included lanyard. As she has recuperated, she's been able to take her own showers, but the risk of slipping is high, so being able to place a call button near the shower is called for. The button is not waterproof or even water resistant, so I've wrapped in in a plastic bag. This seems to have worked so far. Making an accessory to allow for use in a wet environment would be a good idea.Having said all this, we feel strongly that this is a very good product, well worth the money, and will certainly continue to use it long after my wife has fully recovered from her surgery. Highly recommended.

Others mentioned the odd-sized batteries but I don’t care because the product is efficient and easy to use. Family member is ill and I hooked one button on a command hook on the nightstand and one next to their chair in the den. Easily seen and reachable. The call buttons come on a strap which we hang around the neck use when they are sitting on the patio or elsewhere. The receiver volume is plenty loud in the “ding ding” mode and attention getting when in the “alarm” mode. The receiver has a clip that really doesn’t hold on any waistbands, pockets, etc. I ended up shoving it in the back pocket of my jeans or carrying it with me from place to place when not attending to them. It’s kept my loved one from falls and any accidents because I can respond quickly. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I bought this for my parents to monitor my father after neck dissection surgery. (he can no longer speak) It has fantastic range (back yard to front of 500 sqft house). there are two notification settings, either an alarm of door bell option which is fantastic. Very simple to use and loud enough to hear it but no so loud that you are covering your ears while trying to turn it off.

I have had problems with other wireless devices in my bungalow so was worried that I would not be able to receive the signal when I was at the far end of the house. It is excellent. I can hear it everywhere including in the garden. My mother is absolutley delighted with it. Her face lights up when I appear after she has pressed the button. Worth every penny to see her.

A twofold blessing. My husband has a progressive disorder and I used to find it difficult finding "me time" while being constantly alert on him. This helps me to do both. Good, carrying sound but not sharp. He also feels confident of immediate attention. A must for care-givers.Thanks a lot.

When I received the item, I noticed missing batteries. I accidentally press the bell, surprisingly it rings. Then I checked that the unit had been used, as the battery are in and small damage seen as photos attached. The bell does not work when there is a wall in between. I am very disappointed with the seller and the product. I am returning it!!
