Read both my dogs chips within seconds. Worked on my dogs HomeAgain microchip and AKC Reunite microchip. The beep is relatively quiet. Good to check to make sure microchip is still in place

Works great on the new microchips I recently placed in my litter of pups. Quickly read their id from a foot away. I also scanned my 2 & 3 year old dogs to test the scanner and found it needed to be almost touching the skin and directly over the injection site to read.

Unable to detect any of my 5 cats' microchips, even when touching their skin (and I know where they were implanted).While charging, the unit beeps every minute or so. The button supposedly turns the unit off, but does nothing while charging. The beeping is incessant and annoying. It also scares my cats.The battery arrived completely dead, so there was no opportunity to test it out without first charging it. The charge cycle is quite slow.My cats have standard ISO microchips, not Avid or any other unusual format. I don't know why they would be unreadable.There is only one button but it does not appear to do anything. It doesn't turn the unit off when held, and doesn't appear to activate the unit for scanning. The scanner simply cycles on its own, attempting to detect microchips automatically. This is finicky and not user-friendly.

We’ve had a cat hanging around our house for the past three weeks and have been posting him online to try and find his owner. After going so long hearing nothing we figured his owner might not be on social media. I ordered this scanner and right out of the box it was charged and I was able to scan the cat quickly. Within the hour we had tracked down his owner and returned him 🩵 absolutely worth the money!

Unfortunately, the pup was dumped (vet called the owner on file). But, we found him a new home on 10 acres with amazing people that run an animal rescue and adoption center.The Smoostart Microship worked, and allowed us to look up public information associated to the chip number.

As soon as I came within a few inches of our cats' necks, this reader instantly read the codes from their microchips.The display (albeit small) was very clear and easy to read (even for my old eyes).The only potential issue: you need to be pretty quick to scribble down the number (or take a quick photo of it). If the display times-out (goes dark), you need to re-scan the chip... the data gets zeroed-out when you turn it back on. This was only a minor inconvenience for me - not enough to dock a star from my rating. (Let's call this review a 4.6).Happy with this purchase.

Sehr gut. Leicht zu bedienen und wirklich zuverlässig. Ich hatte das Produkt gekauft, da mir eine Katze zugelaufen ist. Das auslesen war wirklich sehr einfach und die Anzeige bleibt auch lange stehen.

Le lecteur fonctionne parfaitement bien. Il est petit et c'est pas encombrant. Cependant un écran un peu plus grand serait plus pratique pour la lecture de la puce.
