I got these for the ends of my wooden dowels, but they stuck out to much. I’ll use them for the correct end cap, and leave them as they are. I attempted to cut them off, but that was a big mistake. The good thing is that they aren’t too expensive and experience might matter more than you would think. I’ll try to use them as intended and not try to make them fit the idea that I have in my own mind. I do think they are plastic though. But I didn’t know if they were made of wood or not. I’m still trying to figure that one out. However, I’m going to go read the package and verify that. Wood or plastic they fit as expected.There is a nice assortment of buttons that I can use for my projects. The seller shipped them out to me in a timely manner. I would purchase from this seller again if I need them down the road. I love trying new designs and new ideas for my builds and appreciate being able to find them on Amazon along with the many other projects that I am working on at any given time.

Good assortment of hole plugs. Use them in my woodworking shop. I have not ran across one yet that was not the correct size. Wood buy again.

I don’t often use wood plugs, but when I need them, I always end up making a trip to the hardware store for the size I need. Now hopefully I won’t have to. These are 4 common sizes nicely organized in a clear storage case. It’s angled and not straight like a dowel. The middle girth of each plug measures the marked size, the top is just short of 1/16†larger and the bottom is just short of 1/16†so that it will insert into the drilled hole. The description says these are made of Schima material which I had to look up. “Schima comprises anywhere between one and thirty species of evergreen treesâ€. Of the two times I’ve had to use these so far, neither required staining of the plug so I don’t know how well it will take stain. One of the uses was to plug screw holes so that I could drill new holes to realign a door strike plate (pic) and they held very well with wood glue.

One thing that sets apart "good" wood plugs from "OK" wood plugs for me is the grain direction. These were all cut so that the grain goes across the top (not up and down), which means it is much more likely to match the grain of your wood creation. The majority of these were smooth and well shaped on the top end, though they are a little rough on the bottom (where it doesn't matter. There were a few edges that were not quite round, especially on the smaller size, which is why I gave them 4 stars. Despite that, this is a great deal for the price, and since I feel like I constantly need to plug holes with my home improvement projects, I will appreciate having these around.
