Very good, medium sized granules. Worked well in below 20*F temps, on layers of thick ice and some snow.I have a set of stairs (rarely used) leading to front door that is where deliveries are often made. The steps arent often used, but I wanted to clear off after having been neglected over the past week of snow, rain, ice, more ice. So I could not shovel it off as it was all too hard. I could see a thick layer of ice under the hard snow crust anyway and knew I needed to dose it with ice melt. I used the entire 5 lbs to take care of a few small portions of a set of cement/stone steps (just in case we needed to use this as an exit, or of delivery people wanted to step up towards door to drop off boxes).It immediately began to eat through all that was there. I like that the granules dont dissolve super quickly, which allows it to work longer, and keep on working for a bit of time.I have tried a few varieties of Snow Joe brand ice melt, and have been pleased with them all.This small bag came with a scoop.

I live in a condo community and moved there many yrs ago due to health issues that limit how much I can lift and also for other much needed accommodations. this year they stopped providing ice melt for individual residents. the walk way to my patio was icy and treacherous. so when I found the 5 pound box, on amazon and once it was delivered, and I could lift it, I was so happy! it works and is pet friendly too. i don't fall on the ice and neither do any visitors or delivery people too.

We were looking for an ice melt that would be safe for our family as well as our new pavers. This met all of our expectations. It did a great job melting the snow and icy patches. We also liked that it came with a scooper!

Incredibly small box and when I used it on my driveway it did nothing. I came back over 4 hours later and the ice was still incredibly frozen and slick.

This is such an effective product and the 5lb quantity was perfect! I live rurally, so I don't have sidewalks, just a front door deck, that occasionally gets dicey in snow. I also have a small house, without a lot of storage, so I could keep this product in a plant sized container behind the front door easily!

I thought it was a little expensive at first but considering how little you need to use for it to work it is comparable to other brands. It does the job and safe for pets.

The box is approx 12†lg and as you can see a mere coffee mug displayed for height of box!!! What a ripoff. Such a small box for the money…very deceptive. Just because it says 5lbs doesn’t mean the actual size of pkg only the weight!

Dissapointed thought this would melt ice so it was safer to walk but using a lot still didn’t do much
