One of the most annoying things about too many cameras is way-too-shallow eyecups that fail to block out ambient light, a significant problem under bright conditions. This cup, for a mere US$20, largely solves that problem. It could be a touch more compliant to block out 100% stray light (for my facial architecture it works out to probably 99% in landscape and 97% in portrait mode), plus I'll see how comfortable/long-lasting it is after extensive field testing (it just arrived), but it seems to be of good quality, it fits perfectly, and they even provide a tiny magnetic screwdriver. So, do what Panny should've done when they spec'd the S5M2 and G9M2, and put the right part on it!

Not sure why a few people said this eye piece is uncomfortable. IT isn't. While it is not as soft of rubber )likely not silicone) it is plenty comfy and blocks out light, which is the point. The fit is perfect and fits exactly like the OEM piece. The only improvement would actually be to have it made form silicone. Softer and will not degrade. Great value though.

I use my S5iiX for lots of video shooting in various settings and locations. I wanted the eyecup to work better in bright situations, so I bought this to help. I'm so glad I did, because now I can see the viewfinder image better than the one that comes installed. The rubber is sturdy so it won't lose its shape, but still soft enough to not poke your eye-socket uncomfortably. By nature, mirrorless and DSLR cameras aren't really meant to be held up to your eye for extended periods of time, so I haven't had a situation where the eye-cup was next to my skin for a long time. I usually just check the viewfinder long enough to see what I need to see, and then go back to operating the camera how I usually do. I've seen some reviews state they think it's too "hard" and hurts their eye but I have not experienced that at all.In addition to functionality, my camera also looks better with this eye-cup than it did before. I usually leave my camera rig built up with a cage, baseplate, mattebox, follow focus, etc all the time. The only time I take things off is when I need the rig to be lighter for extended handheld shooting. When my camera is built up, it just looks better and more professional with this eyecup attached. And this cup definitely blocks out unwanted light. The factory one doesn't do that at all.

The extra length helps get your face off the screen or back of the camera. So far its amazing. The only draw back is that on cameras like the GH6 where the screen can tilt, your view from the top-down gets blocked a bit. I'll add a picture of that.I'll update this review pending the durability.

I've had several eye cap replacements for cameras before. Unfortunately this is hard and doesn't fit your eye well. Have returned it. Using eye cap that came with camera (lumix G9 ii) is better.

Fits perfectly on GH5. Good price. Good quality eyepiece.

Likes: Better and blocks stray light better than original. Extends back sufficient to keep the nose off for the back of the camera. However, it would be more comfortable if the material were softer and more flexible. Other reviewers had the same comment, but I ordered it anyway. No regrets.

the suction is fantastic, and overall the quality of this is far better than what they used to have on the gh5 and gh5s. i love this product and it cups your eyes much better.

Much stronger than the soft rubber on the original eye piece and better design to keep the light out. Does add about a cm to the width of the camera though. Easy to install - snaps in.
