This fountain works as it supposed to, but Ive not seen it light up at all. Also, sadly, I've not seen 1 bird on my birdbath since I put it in there a week ago. I use it without any of the adaptors because most of them shoot too high and causes all of the water to run out of the birdbath. So, all in all, it shoots water just fine, but I feel like my birds are afraid of it. I am being patient and hopeful they will get used to it and start coming to the bath soon

Unfortunately with the size of bird bath we had the water would blow out and empty the bird bath fairly quickly. We tried different nozzle sizes but even the low bubbling ones emptied the bird bath. Others may have a different experience but I did read this in the comments as a primary concern for others, and the book describes several methods of helping to prevent this so obviously is an issue for others. Net, neat idea but for bird baths it's impractical. If you have a small fish pond or other water feature that's larger it indeed would work well.

This is the second time I’ve bought one of these fountains. The first lasted several years and finally wore out. I bought this replacement and it is already not working at all. It just gave up and stopped. Disappointed waste of money.

I purchased this fountain for use in a birdbath. It comes with several adapters to change the spray pattern. I have been using it for a few weeks and it works very well. It does need to be in bright or direct sunlight to work properly. There is no on/off switch. To stop it, you need to move to a shaded or dark area. Be sure to keep enough water in your container as the motor will continue to run dry as long as there is enough light. I would recommend this fountain to anyone.

What I dislike about this was only the water pump it was not strong enough to flow, everything else was easy to set up and installed.
