A magnet sticks to this sponge indicating that it is not brass which means this ad is deceptive. Do not purchase this item as the sponge should be real brass to clean your solder iron tips.

The trick to a good soldering is tip temperature and a clean tip. This helps with keeping the tip clean.

Brass is non-ferrous so a magnet should not stick. In the material description it states it as being copper, which should also be non-ferrous but is not recommended for cleaning tips.
