I do all the maintenance on my vehicles including classic cars and have always tensioned the belts either by the thumb deflection method or "it looks right". I also work on other things that have belts such as air compressors and A/C units and set the belts the same way. I have to say I didn't even know that a device like this was even available. But looking at it and the physics of how it works intrigued me. It is likely more accurate and overkill for what I need but I always like a challenge and to learn new things. The manual is pretty good and explains the theory and setup but I wish it had some real world examples. No matter as I was able to find some by asking my friend Google. I feel like I can now set my belt tensions like a master.

I really had no idea that there was a device such as this. We had so many issues with our lawn mower belts. We would go through them regularly. After ordering this, we checked to see the tension, but actually our belt was off. We corrected and adjusted the belt and haven’t had to change our belt since!

Definitely an upgrade to our existing tension meter, which I think was at least 10 years old. Much easier to use and costs much, much less than what we paid for our existing one. Time will tell how long this meter will last as the one we already have seems a little sturdier. But this isn't meant to be carried around while working in some crowded area where you're likely to drop it. Accuracy is spot on.

I got this for my dad’s shop that I occasionally work in. His last one was not as nice as this but it worked. This one came quick, but in the cheapest box I’ve ever seen. Like I have tent stakes that came in a more hefty case than what this did. For the price , I’d expect it to come with a little thicker case but that doesn’t affect the function of it. It works as advertised and is cheaper than if you were to buy it out of the industry catalog. Overall, it works and im happy !
