Recently got a Dutch oven and wanted to start making my own sourdough. This kit is great and a lot is included for a good price. The jar for storing starter has both a metal lid and a fabric cover so it can be fully sealed and stored in the fridge or sit on the counter with the fabric cover and allow your starter to rise. It also comes with a band that lists days & times so you can track when you last fed your starter and how much it has risen. The spatula is long and skinny so you can feed & mix your starter directly in the jar. The whisk makes mixing the dough very simple. The plastic scraper helps get any sticky dough bits off the side of the mixing bowl. I've made two loaves so far, one loaf using the banneton floured and put the dough directly into the wooden bowl, and one loaf using the fabric cover (floured) covering the wooden part. Both loaves turned out great and didn't stick to the banneton either time. The lame blade is SUPER sharp so scoring the dough before baking was extremely easy. It also came with multiple replacement blades, and the lame has a leather cover for safe storage. I haven't had to use the metal scraper/cutter yet but I'm planning to make bagels soon so that will come in handy when dividing the dough.The seller also emailed me very specific care and usage instructions prior to my kit being delivered so that was very helpful. I would highly recommend this kit and will likely buy another banneton from this seller so I can have multiple loaves ready to bake at a time!

I have been using this complete set of baking tools to make homemade sourdough bread for about 3 weeks now. I love all the tools that came along with the two high quality banneton baskets. The bench scraper is very high quality and works wonderfully. The bowl scraper is excellent, not too firm and not too bendy either! The fancy whisk works really well for feeding my starter and the lame (sharp razor knife) leaves perfect scores! I have not used the basket liners, because I prefer the beautiful rings left on my loaves, but they fit nicely and maybe one day I will try them out as well. I highly recommend this set, it's a great all-in-one purchase to get your sourdough bread baking journey started, too!

This is the first time I have ever used proofing baskets (I am new to bread making) and I must say, they have made a huge difference. If you often find that your bread dough fails to hold the shape you want it to prior to baking, one of the ways to encourage that is to use proofing baskets like these. The quality of these baskets, in particular, is simply wonderful. The caning is tight, uniform and meticulously finished. With proper care, I'm confident these baskets will last a very long time indeed. I will certainly be buying more of them from this vendor in the future. And speaking of this vendor, I just need to say something about that. Out of the countless vendors I have done business with on Amazon over the years, exactly one of them - this one - proactively sent me two messages. They first wanted to ensure that I had received the order in perfect condition - and if anything was amiss, I should simply let them know and they would take care of it. They wanted to ensure that I was completely satisfied. I was having a lot of issues with my sourdough baking, specifically when it was in the 'proof' stage. I often found whatever I used would aggressively stick to the kitchen towel I used in a bowl. I admit that my technique has improved at the same time, but I found this to be immediately much easier to work with.I use the banneton with the included liner, and I found that as long as it's all well floured, the liner peels right off the dough.Using one of these helps in a couple ways, for one, it helps promote a bit of airflow to help develop the outside of the dough (the 'skin' as I tend to call it), it also helps to wick moisture away from dough which also helps to develop the skin.Plus getting the bread lame for scoring the dough, it's really quite a good package.
