I'm using these on a hand built folding painting easel. I've had them for years and they work great. I've opened and closed them hundreds of times with no degradation in holding capacity. I'll buy these again.

These did work as advertised, , but I found that even at the tightest adjustment , it still moved slightly for me. I need it to be rock solid to hold my painting panels. Other painters seemed to think they were good enough. Somewhere else someone suggested Rockler brand 30 lbs. tension hinges, but I didn't try them. Instead I have now ordered some Guerrilla Painter Lid Bracket for 102 Series Boxes from Judsons plein air supply, and I'll try those. Happy painting!

I used two of these torsion hinges to replace the hinges and support hardware on my 9 X 12 Open Box M pochade box which stuck out on most sides of the box when closed. All those pokey bits made it hard to carry and store. Much easier (and much quicker) to set up and put away with these hinges. Took about 30 minutes to replace to existing hardware, mostly removing to knobs and screws. Very pleased with this purchase, perfect size.

Heavy duty, perfect size and easy installation. Screws to short for my needs, didn't need them any way, had my own. Thanks!
