I bought this to change out the cheap plastic latch that comes on a WSM bbq. I put on a new stainless door and wanted a tight fit. This latch sucks in most of the gaps around the door for a good fit. (I also have a felt seal around the door but even without that the latch would work perfect)It does get hot from the heat of the BBQ but I can either unlatch it really fast or use BBQ mitts.

With only minor modification this worked great to replace a missing window latch in our 1975 AirStream. The threaded shaft is slightly longer than our original one. We cut it a bit and works great.

I was able to modify these slightly to replace the latches on my 40 year old 1974 Airstream trailer. They are half the price of the ones from Airstream outlets!
