Buyer beware!!! Check the origins of your purchases. I’m finding MUCH more often than not when I receive a purchase that turns out to be a garbage product it always originates from China and they’ve used an American sounding name as a supplier to cloak the fact they’re selling you cheap Chinese knock off garbage that will break shortly after use. Amazon should be held to account for not disclosing plainly for customers so we know what we are getting when we make a purchase. This piece of trash leaked out the top in less than a month of use which as I read more of the reviews of this product I find is a common trend. IT’S GARBAGE! SHAME on you Amazon for selling this garbage to your customers.

Installed spring of 2024 and four months into the season it is leaking a steady stream out the top. I’ve only backwashed 4 times so very little movement just sub-par components. The last OEM Hayward was from 02 but I remove and spray with silicone spray the end of each season. This one will not even make the end of the season.

Replaced a cracked valve body. This valve has a couple of manufacturing defects in the body with slight leaks, let’s air in when pump not running. I’d have been better off buying original.

So not sure on this unit.. installed last year, water seeped out the top (where valve handle is). I figured just to inspect next season, simple seal or something. This year, same thing and also noticed that after backwash, then put into filter, water still came out the backwash port.. So took it apart, screws were not tight, so that might be an issue. Assumed from factory they would have been torqued to a specification, my fault for assumption. Internal inspection showed no issues, gasket seals looked good. reassembled and tightly snug the 10 screws and nuts.. So unit no longer seeps as much from top, but backwash still leaks. I can stop the leak by moving the valve around, but should not have to do this, its us a simple valve design that should have no issues. I do not recommend this part unless the manufacture/seller can provide a solution to these issues.

Good match for original.Working well after several weeks - no leaks.Only issue was tape provided not the best - used plumbers thread tape, lots of wraps, all good.
