I bought this to add a spare to our trailer. I was attracted to the price and the fact it is made in the USA. Honestly the price is insanely reasonable for a USA made product. The welds are excellent and it’s heavy duty. The mount comes with all the needed hardware for a variety of mounting options and wheel bolt pattern. Includes lug nuts for both hub piloted and tapered lugs.

I've been needing a spare time carrier for my utility trailer for a long time. This one seems pretty nice. Sturdy and well made. Supports several common bolt patterns for mounting the wheel. Only gripe is installation is awkward. I did it alone, but it would have been better if I had recruited some help. Also note that the bracket that goes on the back (second pic) is NOT symmetric. After wrestling around to get the first bolts in place, I found I couldn't install the others because I had the bracket upside down. So pay attention at the start! Also, my trailer has a 2" wide tongue. This unit comes with a couple of sets of bolts for mounting to the trailer (in addition to the wheel mounting bolts). The short ones were ALMOST right, but just a bit TOO short. My trailer isn't very big, and I'd be surprised if many trailers out there have a tongue less than 2". So I used the long bolts to mount, but still cut them off a bit since there was a LOT of excess with those. I appreciate including different length bolts, but I'd suggest to the manufacturer to include SLIGHTLY longer bolts for the shorter selection - about 13mm longer (the bolts are metric) would work well, and at least in my area this design of trailer is very common.I do still need to pic up an actual spare tire to mount on it now!Still, this seems to be a very good mount. It may seem like I griped a lot there, but they're really minor points that do nothing to hamper the end use of this. Just made installation a bit frustrating.

Well made. Double welded on each side of every connection. Additional support pieces welded in for strength. Many of the spare tire carriers are poorly made so they can be cheap to market and sell. I sent a different one purchased on Amazon back, that was only welded on one side of each metal to metal connection. Subsequently, there were quite a few reviews of people saying there were breakages.My only wish that this carrier had come galvanized instead of just painted black. My boat trailer is completely galvanized. So I painted this with high adhesion gray primer followed by hammered look silver color to get it looking nearly like the galvanized part. Hopefully the multi coats of paint will keep it from rusting if exposed to salty water and air as it will be.

As others have noted, this item is as advertised...its a Beast. Very well made, sturdy....heavy duty to support my larger trailer tire, a 285 80R16 w/3 lug type steel wheel. Arrived on-time & well packed w/all required hardware. While I would have preferred true SS hardware, the zinc coated bolts/nuts/washers will do just fine, I'll keep an eye on them for corrosion. Set-up precisely fits the larger 3" Wide x 6" Deep frame beam on my LoadRite trailer (but not larger). Would recommend & would purchase again. I was not paid to write this review. (I also added a cable lock to reduce temptation of thieves to steal wheel/tire.)
