Bought for my 2005 Silverado 2500. It will mount to the frame fine, but the part that holds the wheel is too small to confidently hold the wheel up. The hub of the wheel is much bigger than a 1500. Not compatible with my truck, as advertised.

worked so far. I understand that this does not come with secondary lock which as long as it holds tire in place i'm okay with. Problem i had was no instructions and I incorrectly assumed that it worked as the original unit and when it was tight it would ratchet. It did not and the first unit broke apart. Replacement is holding tire in place with no movement.

So there was a lot of mixed reviews so I wanted to share my experience. I installed this on a 2008 Silverado with a matching aluminum spare. The cup size was big enough to fit the hub. It mounted well and was very smooth. I didn’t crank it up too hard because it will just keep going. Does not have the stop like the oem one

This tire holder on Amazon says it does not fit my 2001 GMC SIERRA 2500. Another smaller one says it is compatible with my truck but if I had bought that smaller one it would not have fit my truck. Works mint, super easy install. I have eight bolt rim. You want this big hoist not the small one- hole in middle is the size you need. If you were to buy the one they recommend the hole would be too small to fit the hoist.
