Worked well in the end, but i had to buy a 9/16 drill bit and bore out the hole to a larger diameter. The bit that comes with this kit wore itself down trying to widen the hole. After drilling it out, it took a lot of muscle but it put decent threads in and got the job done.Lots of lube (oil or grease) when drilling and thread cutting. They do make specific lubes for this, but not required. Drilling was a slow process, drill a bit (GO EASY) back out go in again, you won't go through in one go like wood.DO not leave metal shavings in the cylinder! I took off the cylinder head to avoid this issue. Pain, but done right.

The spark plug thread repair kit was disappointing. The tools felt cheap, and the threads failed to hold effectively, causing further damage. Instructions were vague and unhelpful. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that didn't solve the problem but exacerbated it. Not recommended.

My customers 99 beetle spit out the plug, but man this saved her a bunch of money for the time being. Make sure you read the proper drill bit needed to oversized the hole. I believe it was a 19/32 just slightly over 1/2in. But worth it for sure versus replacing or machine a head. Saved the customer hundreds.

The thread cutter does what is should on soft aluminum but only good for 3 or 4 cuts. The case and numerous inserts are nice to have.

They come directly from China so there cheap and break easily and when you try and send them back it costs you more to send it back than it did to buy them

These plug heli coil units worked perfectly.Installed these in a set of aluminum heads for my 351w.Made changing plugs much easier no more worries about cross threading a plug any more
