They are made from CNC machined PVC plastic, and will not rot like MDF (medium density fiberboard) or wood. Some companies produce a few models of universal speaker adapters, which they intend to fit a lot of vehicles. The problem with producing universal speaker adapters, is that they never really fit any one vehicle very well. We never produce universal speaker adapters. All of our speaker adapters are vehicle specific, to ensure a perfect fit. In addition to proper fitment, our speaker adapters are tough as nails. Whether replacing worn speakers or simply upgrading, our speaker adapters will allow you to install your aftermarket speakers with ease.

I thought the spacer did not fit at first. It was my error. A review from another Durango owner saved my butt. I thought I was going to have to throw away these spacers but, he explained they were perfect for his needs. I gave them another chance and realized it was user error. (Thanks bud!!)A couple of points:- Keep the old speaker mounting bracket: I thought this product would replace the original mounting bracket and installed the spacer directly to my rear door. Powering on the head unit- the brand new speaker sounded very weak. I did some research on the web and came to the conclusion that I did this all wrong. This space fits perfectly on the OEM mounting bracket and allows the speaker to be affixed. I originally threw out the OEM mounting bracket and had to dig it out of my trash. Luckily I was able to salvage the old speakers and seperate them from the mounting bracket.- Dremel needed: The spacer holes lined up perfectly with the plastic mounting bracket. I had to dremel out the inside ring to accomdate my new 6.5 inch speakers. From there it was a breeze to attach the speakers. I am a novice but pretty handy so luckily I had self tapping screws to use. The screws that came with the spacer are pretty trash, but, the product itself is awesome.- May cause fitment issues: The spacer is a lot thicker than the adhesive used to secure my old speakers to the mounting bracket. This may impact fitment when putting your door back together. I had to remove the screen included with my speaker and did not have a problem fitting the door over the new speaker.Excellent product. I'm so glad I bought two pairs. I used one pair on my rear speakers and plan on using the other pair to change my front speakers. Such a great product. Thick, sturdy but easy to modify by Dremel. My speakers hit awesome and installation was a tad tricky but came out really well. Great product!

Used these for upgraded speakers in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Holes all lined up a lot better for the Rockford Fosgate 6.5"s I bought than the Scoche ones I wasted money on. Material is soft enough that I was able to run the one out of the 4 screws that didn't line up with an existing hole right through as if there was a hole there. Two out of the 3 mounting points on the soundbar lined up, third I had to run in at a slight angle to catch the existing hole on the soundbar side. Only concern is how these will hold up long term in the sound bar since all the weight of the speaker is on these. The plastic these are made of is real soft and I think long term these are going to break, but maybe not. They're not so flimsy that they weren't worth using or worth the money. If I was using them for speakers that mount sideways or weren't hanging I wouldn't worry about these at all.

used this to replace the factory infinity speakers in my 2003 jeep liberty. They worked ok, mounting holes were not the best for my replacement speakers. I purchased a different Chrysler speaker bracket from best buy that was much better quality material and better mounting points. But this did work fine.

'98 Dakota CC with Infinity sound. I was trying to keep this speaker replacement low cost, so for the fronts I used the plastic factory speaker mounts to mount 6.5" speakers with #8 5/8 sheet metal screws and a 1/8" pilot hole. There is enough grab there to hold the speaker tightly. For the rears though you'll need these.Be sure to check the mounting hole size for your speakers. The first ones I tried (SSL EX365) had a mounting hole size close to 5 3/4" and wouldn't fit right. Instead of trying to hack these up found another pair of speakers on sale at Fry's that claimed mounting hole size of 5.59" and those fit perfectly. Not every manufacturer lists their mounting hole size, might be best to bring this adapter to the store and try it out first. The included screws poked though the other side after being tightened down, I put a couple layers of electrical tape so there wouldn't be a metal on metal buzz. Cranked up the bass and didn't hear any rattle at all.Really happy with these, made installing the new speakers very easy once I found a speaker that fit. The Metra 72-6512 or Scosche SHCR03B work good for speaker wiring adapters if you don't want to cut the harness.

I bought these for my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Bought 6.5 inch speackers, and the fell into the hole of the original 6.75 round speakers. Needed these. Put them into the original holes using the original screws. Attached the 6.5 inch speakers to these. Most of the pre-drilled holes fit well and secured the speaker well. On one the hole did not line up perfectly so used a self tapping screw and it secured the speakers perfectly.

These worked great for the rear deck on my 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. I installed some Skar 6.5†speakers. They work great for keeping the speakers secured. The rear speakers are suppose to be 6.5†but if you order 6.5†they won’t fit if you don’t have an adapter like this.

this may fit other vehicles, but it does not fit a dodge ram. the speaker holes in a ram are 5.25†the inner cut out is 5 1/2â€. new mounting holes need to be drilled and the missing 1/4 would make the difference. additionally. the cut out does not accommodate a 6 1/2†speaker like advertised. one side needs to be beveled or step cut for the speaker to fit. dodge ram needs to be removed as a vehicle it fits
