The housing and handle are triple chrome-plated steel, and the dipstick features a gold iridite finish for clear accurate oil level readings. The housing measures 12 inches long and the dipstick measures 21 inches long. This dipstick is made to meet OEM specifications for form, fit and function and feature an adjustable bracket for easy installation.

Good value for the money... however it did require minor modification to work on my 1975 302. Straight out of the package this oil dip stick would not fit in my timing chain cover. The entire thing is chrome plated, after removing the chrome plating from around the area that goes in to the timing chain cover it was a very tight fit but still worked.I recommend taking a socket that will fit over the tube and using that with a punch to get it set to full depth.

Tube is not formed properly nor is the tube diameter correct for a small block Ford.

The dipstick tube was too large in diameter to fit correctly and the actual dipstick is longer than needed so it doesn’t fit correctly.

I had to reshape the tube and cut and re- etch the dip stick since I couldn’t find one for my vehicle. It turned out very good and I am real pleased.
