Only thing I like better than my DX5 Pro is that it feels better in my hand. The scroll wheel on the DX5 is much better than the touch pad. The vibrating menu is horrible and there's no way to shut it off.

The only thing I like about this transmitter is that it has model memory. I can link several vehicles to it. Other than that it's nothing special and there are some really obvious oversights as far as functionality and design.For example, there is no auto-off after a few minutes of activity. The controller will beep at you for as long as the batteries last. I'm a software developer, it would be trivial to add this feature and folks could choose to turn it on or off or set a timeout. You are also stuck using 4 AA batteries, it's not compatible with anything else like a FlySky GT5 is. I would much rather get that transmitter and save a bunch of money. Spektrum receivers are way too expensive so not only do you pay a premium for the transmitter, you will also have to pay a premium for any DSMR receivers you buy.I'll keep it as a "lesson learned" reminder to stay clear of Spektrum products. In the past they were good, now it's all about profit over quality and thoughtful design.

Update: The controller died today when showing a full battery. This Controller is hot garbage, and it's $250+. The controller is not water resistant. There are no gaskets around the battery compartment to keep any form of water out, and the battery tray is loose in the base. Honestly, my Stock DX3 Controller with my SCX6 seems better built and feels better in hand, but I was hoping for proper weatherproofing for PNW weather resistance. Stay away from this product.
