I saw a random video using a mallet and wondered why I did not have one in my kitchen gadget drawer. I know that I have used other methods when preparing meat and chicken for cooking so why not improve my options? I watched a bunch of videos and read a multitude of reviews and settled on this product. First, easy to clean and the grip feel is perfect. The weight of the product gets the job done and I must admit is a lot of fun to use. Great choice and priced well.

Solid, does what is expected of it, it pounds and tenderizes. Not 5 stars because if you run it through the dishwasher even once the chrome/polished coating washes off to a dull oxidized finish. Does this affect its ability to whack, smack and flatten? No but when you order a pretty chrome meat hammer you hope it might stay that way for more than a day!Edited to 4 stars - because it remains 100% functional despite the appearance. The owner was kind enough to contact me with recommendations for care and to offer to replace the item (which I declined because the mallet still works just fine) No need to add more to the landfills

I had a disk style one in the past. I was very hard on my hands and the plastic handle broke in no time. This one really does the trick with very little effort!

Great addition to the kitchen chef that I and my son are trying to be. It saw use right out of the package after a quick wash and rinse. My son used it 3 days straight for his lunch (pan fried Chicken breast with garlic noodles) and now has a higher degree of confidences on his skill.The tool feels nicely weighted in the hand so you don't have to mimic wack-A-Mole, the head does the work.. The handle is simple and sturdy and soft, more rubber-like vs hard plastic. This may help with slippage as well. It cleans up nicely and I dry it soon after vs letting is sit with water on it like most of the other utensils we have.This is so much better then the thick coffee mug my son was using. Its quieter too. LOL Thanks Brian

I thought it too small, but after using I found I had to hold back a bit to avoid pulverizing my Chicken Milanesa. And a good price. Recommended.

I had to purchase a new pounder that offered a flat and pointed tenderizer. For my chicken breasts ~ incredibly happy with the flat surface that tenderized yet JUICY! I DEFINITELY recommend.
