How to Use Tip Tinner
Step 1 - Heat iron and clean
Heat the soldering iron to around 320°C and then brush the iron on a wet sponge or brass coils several times to remove any surface oxidation.
Step 2 - Apply tip tinner
Place the tip into the center of the tip tinner. You should see some smoke burn off, this is normal. Once the metal starts to melt, let the tip sit for about 10 seconds. Rotate the tip in the mixture if the tip is large or the amount of tip tinner is getting low.
Step 3 - Remove excess
Brush the tip off on a sponge or brass coils cleaner to remove any excess tip tinner.
Step 4 - Check your work
Now try tinning the tip with flux-core solder to see if it will accept it. If it does, you are done and can begin your work. If not, repeat this procedure. Do not use water-soluble fluxes as they can corrode tips at elevated temperatures.
Soldering Safety
Remember to tin your tips using tip tinner before and after each soldering session. Do not use water-soluble flux as this can corrode the tip at high temperatures.
As with all soldering products, it is highly recommended that you use this product in a well-ventilated area. We recommend using a fume extractor for your safety. These are available from Aoyue in the 486 series of extractors and the heavy duty FEK-01.

This has helped clean the tips of my soldering irons. I checked videos about this product and it says its meant to melt and turn liquidy, but this one doesn't and because of how small it is, it can't clean the lower side of the tips.Overall, it leaves the tips clean

The product works if you can get your tip in it. It looks exactly as the picture shows... however, the product at the edges starts at only the halfway point of the container. The product is concave inside the can, so, there is only about 1mm of product in the center of the container. When you try to roll the tip of your iron in it, the side of the container gets in the way because there is so little product in it. You can only get the very tip tinned. This is not worth purchasing.

Tip tinners are basically an essential buy if you work with soldering irons. Doubly so useful if you use TS100 style tips (eg. Pinecil) as they are more pricy to replace if you eroded the tips down.My tips look nearly new despite a fair amount of use on them because of this product.

Not much to say, it is tip runner. Instructions are included if you have never used the product in the past. Works as it should to protect your tips.

Standard Tinning product I believe that works as it should, it is however VERY dry to the point of powder in the container on opening it. The lid pops off by the way and is not threaded as I 1st thought.* if you also use the SRA #135 Flux paste like me ( good product ) don't be fooled like me thinking this Tin is the same size and weight, it's actually about 1/3 the size at 21grams, so I was disappointed by that, but it's in the pics if you look closely, I didn't.

Product is too hard its like a piece of steel. Soldering iron will not penetrate compound. Don't waste your money
