Color-coded grooves in the high-impact polystyrene plastic ensure quick and accurate selection of the desired scale. Three sides with six different scales feature die-engraved graduations. Architect triangular scale is open divided: 3/32", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2", 3" = 1'. Measurements are fully divided in inches to 16ths. Has many scales on it, large ranges, and easy to read. If you need a scale for architectural drawings, or making scaled models, this is the way to go.Also good for any model railroader making scaled layouts as well. As they it has 1/4"=1' and 1/8"=1', perfect for O-Scale and HO-Scale.

Lesson learned. Read the description carefully and don't make assumptions. There is a 16 scale, but NO 1/16 scale. Of course, 1/16 scale is what I need.

Okay, a triangle rule, such as this can be a real help when drawing out architectural plans (I'm no pro, but have done many times, for our needs, over the years) and, this one doesn't disappoint. I read most/all reviews before purchasing and am not unhappy, in any way, with it. Accurate, clear, large-enough markings to use well -- no "oops" in the making of this product, where one might feel like it's an inferior product.

It's not aluminum so may dent easier but also won't dent your work surface. In my case the dining table.

As a blues reader there comes the odd time when the print lets you down and there is nothing else to do but get your info by scaling. That's what this tool is for and it never lets you down. Trying to interpret 3/4 scale by using a measuring tape is mind boggling, to say the least. Break out your architect's rule and it becomes easy.tj

This is Staedtler, so of course it's nice.It's not 12 inches long. It's 12 3/4 inches long. Seller needs to get themselves a measuring tape.Maybe they should buy some Staedtler measuring tools.It's not metal, but some kind of nice feeling soft material. It is labelled #4 type plastic. Overall nice ruler.

Good product but can be repacked after use , so packaging should be in that way that we can repack it to reuse because these type of things should be kept in safe place
