I purchased this product not knowing it would be used for my projects, but came highly recommended by crafters and designers. Well, they were on point because this ruler became a staple in my projects, using the softer side, tearing the deckled paper. Great quality and heavy for placement and tear. Highly recommend!

I believe I purchased the metal option B Wavy Tearing Ruler. It appears to be nice and sturdy and is a decent size. The right or, curvy side of the rule is nice but, it will require a water brush or paintbrush dipped in some water to outline the wavy side to make tearing easier. I think it will also work well for drawing curvy lines on paper, cardstock, or chipboard. It does have a slot down the middle you can use with a craft knife or rotary cutter to assist you in safely but slowly cutting cardstock, chipboard or other items. For safety sake, I would suggest flipping the ruler around so you are holding down the curvy side when cutting with a sharp blade. There is a scary part to this metal ruler. I know, I know...it is a metal tearing ruler but, the left side of the ruler is very jagged and sharp. You can tear dry paper (tested up to 32 lb paper) easily on the left side without wetting; however, you must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL you don't cut or rip your skin when using. I would STRONGLY recommend choosing an acrylic or different type of tearing ruler to avoid serious accidents, especially if you have children.

This is a very sturdy ruler. It's very heavy. And, you can make tears that look messy, but intentional at the same time. Very easy to use!

The ruler is sturdy and did give a wavy / jagged edge but it did not look like a natural deckled edge on cotton. printmaking paper

I've always hated cutting down watercolor paper to smaller sizes because of losing the deckle edge. I tried the ruler immediately after opening the package and am impressed with the results. I do recommend marking where you plan to tear the paper, fold it so you have a crease, and then moisten the full length of the rip. By taking just a few extra steps, you can get a nice deckle edge. Also, be extremely careful how you handle this ruler. It is really, really sharp and I believe would cause serious damage to a finger.

El corte de papel es muy sencillo. Si se quiere utilizar la orilla más pequeña, puedes poner un poco de agua en el papel y después jalarlo; funciona muy bien.
