Used to seal main burn chamber door of englander 25 epi , the glue that came was just barely enough and had started to breakdown as ounce opened clear liquid came out at first ..so maybe try to massage the tube before opening OR better just buy some preferably local . Anyhow was able to get glued in BUT let it set overnight with door tightly shut prior to starting .. been almost 3 months now and no problems !.

Arrived when expected, packed well. Gasket looks good. Put in on my wood stove, went pretty well. Glue was pretty sticky though. Haven't fired it up yet so if anything goes awry there will be follow up. Kidding about the glue.

The seal seems or great quality but the cement was unusable. I don't have time to deal with the return policy, so I'm just going to eat the cost and buy the cement from someone else. Im not one to give a negative review, stuff happens, just want people to beware.

I bought this product for the fire insert door . It artived on time , nicely packaged. As described. It was easy to install, it came with the cement to afhere to the door. It sealed perfectly. Great Value. Good quality, thick and long enough for the door.

My fireplace door seal was old and no longer creating an airtight seal. I purchased the gasket rope with the high temperature gasket cement. Since it was the end of November, we had been using the fireplace constantly because of a cold snap. I needed to replace the gasket and get the fireplace heating again. After removing the old gasket and chiseling out the old adhesive, I cut the new gasket to length and then prepared to apply the gasket cement to the fireplace gasket channel. When I opened the tube and squeezed, I was surprised to find that the adhesive wasn't any good. It was mostly dried and almost solid.Since I had already removed the old door gasket and needed to get the fireplace heating again, I couldn't wait for the delay of returning the item through Amazon and waiting for a replacement that may also have old gasket cement from their inventory. Instead, I had to spend time, gas and money to run over to our local hardware store and pay $10 for a tube of high temp gasket adhesive to complete the job. I'm returning the unused length of gasket rope and the tube of hard adhesive. Hopefully I get a refund.

Cleaned out the 20 year old gasket, cut this to length. applied adhesive, and installed. Stove is ready for another 20.

The rope itself looks good but is 6inches short. The glue doesn’t come out of the tube cleanly. You have to press so hard to get it out that it blew the side out. And doesn’t come with nearly enough for the rope. Very disappointed

Gasket was alot thinner than our previous one that came out. The gasket is a woven soft material whereas my previous gasket is almost like a thick braided rope. We decided not to use the softer gasket and just the glue. Old gasket is holding up very well with the glue.

It was my first time replacing the gasket on my stove door--worked like a charm (great videos on youtube with tips on getting out the old glue and how to proceed). The glue for this is NASTY--wear thick gloves (I had only one pair of latex gloves and it wasn't enough protection) but overall, easy to do.

It comes with adhesive and creates a strong seal on the fire doors. After multiple uses, the seal is still holding up well, providing a reliable fit.

Adhesive comes in a metal toothpaste tube, so small leaks develop when you knead the tube to mix the adhesive. So you will (likely) not get it fully mixed, and squeezing the tube results in either paste the right consistency or paste like water or paste so thick the nozzle plugs. No fun. When I realized this was how it was to be I squirted the remainder of the tube into a small cup and mixed it all up, applying it with a small spatula. This then went fast with no dripping/spraying/plugging goop.Time will tell if it holds, it's stuck on good right now. Yes it holds, mixing it in the cup did not effect adhesion.Put down drop sheets, wear old clothes and definitely wear gloves.

Very poor adhesion if any and very had to use.The rope gasket material was actually nice....but the cement that came with it was terrible. The tube was full of air pockets and very hard to squeeze out. After the cement dried the gasket did not stick even after curing with heat. I'm positive that the tube of cement that came with my purchase was bad.
