This is an uncomplicated device that when temperatures start to rise opens the vents. I believe a wax is used in the cylinders. As temperatures rise the wax softens and begins to melt. The cylinder then begins to open the vents. As the wax cools the vents begin to close. I like the simplicity of the device. It works well.
