Used it on a 4r70w Ford transmission. Better pricing than local auto stores, same product.

My O/D light was blinking randomly but the car ran perfectly fine. I pulled a code that pointed the issue to this switch, and it was just that! Super easy to change, just be sure the neutral gear lines are aligned when installed and that you place the car in neutral. Additionally, you can definitely feel a difference when you select gears. In my case, I feel it like a new car! Love how it shifts smoothly and locks and clicks between gear change. Before, I had to juggle it so it would stay in drive! lol and it would go straight between gears without any clicking. I would not have known this piece is SO important.

Worked as expected. The only problem I had was that the alignment mark was on top of the round thingamagiggie and I could not see it when the transmission was already installed on the car, so I aligned the provided alignment mark and made a second alignment mark on the bottom of the round thingamagiggie and that worked perfectly. Ford recommends the use of a $125 alignment tool which I bought, but I found no use for it and did not use it. Save your money and do not buy the alignment tool. Just line up the alignment mark.

The neutral safety switch arrived quickly and was well packed in a box that in turn was inside of a large padded envelope. It fit (barely) inside of my mailbox and therefore no need for a special trip to my rural post office. This SMC brand name switch replaces one that went missing out of my truck while waiting for installation. Hmm... Anyway, the switch was bought from the “used†(aka “open boxâ€) category on Amazon. The price was great and the switch itself looks new. The packing box was a bit scruffy, but I am not installing the box. It appears to be of excellent quality and visibly matches what I currently have installed on my 1997 Ford 4.6L F-150 4WD pickup truck. I would buy another one again (as I already have).

This product is being advertised as being able to fit the 2006 Ford Escape 3.0L XLT. Well I have news for the supplier, it does not. Buyers please beware this item if you have the same car. Maybe they sent me the wrong one....maybe. However, I also noticed that the one advertised has a ford logo on it and the one I got is as generic as they come. The part of the switch that goes around the shaft is white in the picture and the one I got is cream. All it has on it is the number "1113167-161 C". The bore on this product is far too big for the shaft of the CD4E transaxle. The pins do not line up to fit the plug-on for the switch. How could they possible make such an error? This must be a hoax. I am extremely dissapointed on many levels. I had to pay import duties in my country to get the item. Amazon tells me that I have to pay return shipping, well guess what, the cost makes the venture prohibitive. I spend way too much money at Amazon for this crap to happen to me. I am still without a switch, my car is down and I am miles away with no alternative. I am trying to vent my anger. Someone needs to review the specs on this item as well. I think at the very least, Amazon should send me another (correct) one. Not really interested in refund, just need a neutral safety switch.
