Standard Motor Products NS85T Neutral/Backup/Safety Switch was the best priced and quality at the time I ordered this switch. I would recommend if you have to replace yours.

Back up lights were not working. Check everything but determined it was this switch. Lights had not been working since having transmission replaces. when I removed old switch I compared old with new and noticed one of the pins on the old switch were missing. That was the problem. Just a word of advice . follow the directions provided. and be prepared for a hard time removing the electrical connectors from the old switch as GM used some kind of adhesive to hold them in. Not impossible but go slow when trying to remove them. Installation of this switch was easy.

With the shifter in neutral it installed with no problem. After looking at a bunch of install videos I will comment on the real world vs on line how to. Heating the electrical connectors with a hair dryer( for removal) did help,but the real trick (my own,no pwr tool needed) is sand the bolt shaft (a lot) with a band of sand paper& spray DW40. That allows the old part to gently pry off the shaft,& this new part will push on without hang ups. Installed linkage, & no adjustments needed. All tail light functions vs shifter positions work. After test driving & rechecking I can say it shifts fine. This was installed because of intermittent starts when turning the key. Now the key cranks the already replaced starter every time.
