Factory specs states that switch suppose to open the ground circuit for my (1998 Camry LE 2.2) fans 93+ degrees Celsius or 199+ degrees Fahrenheit. This SMP switch opens at 239 degrees Fahrenheit or 115 degrees Celsius, and my original defective Toyota switch opens at 250 degree. Both were out of spec and temp gauge would have to reach 3/4 ways up before the fan kicks in. I recommend buying factory original WATER TEMP. SW NO.1, ECT Switch, thermo fan switch, whatever you call it. I will update this review as soon as I buy a Toyota switch and run a test. I give this switch 2 stars for working, it would have been 1 if it didn't.UPDATE: 12/16/13- At our local Toyota Dealer I was able to pull the factory part number and name. It's called "SWITCH, TEMPERATURE" P/N 89428-33010. This goes for $126.44. You may save money getting Aftermarket parts but there is a reason factory parts are better. I will keep you posted as soon as I can afford to buy another radiator and the factory switch together. In the mean time I'll run the A/C, keeping the fans on constantly, to maintain safe operating temperature. There is a switch from the A/C that is inline with the same ground as the Thermo (on radiator) fan switch. Open ground circuit causes the fan to turn on. It's just wired that way (not going into details).

No good for my 2000 Camry. It red lines and no fans. Defective junk. After I got another one on rockauto (that actually worked) I decided to see if I could get it to open... Had to use a heat gun. Do not buy. Junk.

This would not turn my fan on I bought the OEM Toyota part and it works perfect, do not buy this your car may overheat.
