I got these because my boss is a lefty and has a hard time writing with the spirals on the left side. We have tried a few other brands, but these are really nice. I was surprised at the quality, because they were cheaper than the other brands. I would definitely buy these again!!!

Sturdy cardboard front and back. You can flip the pad over and write on the other side--so two pads for price of one. Metal spiral is well made, won't snag or come apart. Old school method for taking notes on field trips, e.g. bird watching, interviewing, jotting down ideas whenever a record is important and you want to be as unobtrusive as possible. Also useful as a backup record. Of course you have to know cursive writing. Cursive writing can be useful as it may be introduced in a court of law under certain legal conditions.

I really feel that I got a good deal on these note pads; a nice value pack. But I have to admit that I did have to take a small hit on the quality of what I got. The cover and pages are nice looking, but when I compare these to my last batch of steno pads, the paper feels a little coarse. I think it has to do with these being made with recycled paper. Also, the cover on these are a bit flimsier than what I'm used to. I liked the sturdiness of my last batch, because it was easier to write while holding the pad in hand.

These were an incredible deal at the time I bought them, and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the paper. I also like how the front and back covers can be written on or decorated. I'm someone who likes to write and doodle or use markers on covers so I remember which notebook is used for what, but many notebooks have glossy covers that make that difficult to do, while these are great for it. It will be a while before I run out, but I'll be keeping this in my wish list to restock when I finally do need to.
