I keep this punch tucked in my box of Dewalt drill bits and have used it a couple times with excellent results. The tip remains sharp and hardened and accommodates my metal drilling needs. Recommended!

It's a good, hard, punch I use to extract broken taps. It's really hard steel. No complaints.

For light-duty home use, this is fine. I bought it for my son who works as a ship fitter, so has to mark hardened steel parts all day long. For such heavy use, we ended up replacing these with a Swiss made, carbide tipped centerpunch, which stands up to that abuse better than this. (The price difference is less than 2x).Think about your expected usage, to see if it makes sense to spend a bit more on a tungsten carbide tippped punch.

Performs well. Has a sharp tip that seems to hold up well. Very nice finish, too. They're worth the money compared to other brands I've used.

Starrett center punch review: this is a good old school center punch ! I’m a tool aficionado/snob. I’ve used tools my whole working life and since I’ve been a child. I’m familiar with and have Starrett tools and will continue to use them because you can’t go wrong :) I will be buying their automatic center punch. Check it out if you already have a conventional center punch.

It’s a lot better than most punches. Definitely worth the price. Would buy again. Have used it on aluminum only will update when used on stainless.

Impecable ....
